For $3 why not. Store them in your vehicle for emergencies. $3 now could be life saving later

I actually had to bust one of these out (different brand) on a recent overnight hike. Temps got a little colder than expected and this kept me warm enough fall back asleep at 4am.

I was stuck outside once and had one of these, I was freezing and when I used the mylar blanket I was still freezing! Mylar blanket could block some wind and works good for convection heat loss but does absolutely zero zipola for conduction like if your sitting on a cold car seat or laying on the ground even with the mylar under you!!!!! I would keep something better in an emergency kit unless you just can't afford or can't fit anything better! I see many people talking about keeping these in their car, Cars have trunks and you can easily fit something much better in a trunk for keeping you warm! People have car accidents and a higher quality blanket is very helpful for treating shock! Wool will keep you warm even when wet!

I live in a 50° F indoor environment 7 months out of the year and have been doing so for the last 17 years. It is exactly 50° Fahrenheit and never goes lower or higher than 50°F. I am normal weight and do not consume more than 2, 200 calories a day 12 months a year. I wear a short sleeve undershirt plus a thermal waffle knit long sleeve shirt plus a long sleeve polyester sweater and then on that two more hoodies and just one pair of sweatpants for pants. I keep the hood on both hoodies up 24/7. At night I sleep in a Sierra designs Wyatt Earp sleeping bag that is rated to 30° F. I am perfectly comfortable like this for the 7 months.
