Adidas should really stop calling UB's running shoes. They're lifestyle shoes. Great to walk around in. Maybe to jog around the block. Anything serious and they're pretty awful.

That said, the Bostons aren't a plush ride by any stretch. It's comfortable but it's meant for a pretty high pace when the foam really activates. If you're coming from UB a slow pace or just walking it's pretty stiff ride in comparison. I love mine personally.

If you want a plush ride the usual highly regarded models off the top of my dome: Asics Nimbus 25/26 (they saw a really big change with the 25s), New Balance 1080 v12/v13, Saucony Triumphs, Brooks Glycerine and Nike Invincible 3s. I'm unfamiliar with other brands but I'm sure brands like Hoka have their own max cushion running shoes too (think it's the Bondi or the Clifton for Hoka). Just try them out. Dicks Sportings Goods has all of these brands usually in stock to try out. They'll each fit differently and have cushions that vary from really soft to uber soft so it's up to you. I love my Invincibles but they don't really feel like any of the other shoes. Hard to explain but people either love them or hate them. Personally if I had a single shoe to jog a few miles in and don't have a stable of running shoes, the Nimbus'/1080s are sublime.

the boston 12 is my favorite uptempo/workout trainer. I run 40+ miles a week, PRs of 1:21 HM and 2:59 full M.

This is not what i'd recommend for a daily trainer and definitely not as a walking shoe. This is most definitely a performance trainer.

Boston 11 and 12 are a world of a difference; the 11 is quite stiff and rockered while the 12 is softer and takes a lot less to get the "snap" on the toe-off. I find the boston12 more inherently stable than the Puma DN2/Saucony ES3. Softer isn't always better.

Ordered two pair of Adidas on the last deal. The most uncomfortable and cheap sneaker I have ever purchased. Never again will I fall for one of their shoes. Perhaps these are better built but buyer should do your research.

How comfortable is this Boston 12 compared to the UB 22? I love my UB20 but UB22 gave me pain everytime i tried running with it.

That's a fair critique. Adidas performance running shoes have a reputation for plastic feeling uppers. The Boston also is known to have a midsole that runs firmer than the average trainer.

I have to wear socks above the ankle with these because the collar is so abrasive. Other than that I've enjoyed them so far and are solid for a good tempo pace. Only run them once or twice as week as I use a rotation.

I used to run a lot. Like more than 20 miles once or twice a year, once in Boston. That was 2 or 3 years ago. I'm over that, too hard on the body and takes too much time to get to that level. Now it's just fits and starts. A week or two of regular running then it will drop off to nothing for a month or two.

I have so many ultra lightweight trainers like Kinvaras, Adios's, so I pick them up but they aren't substantial, they feel more like 5k or 1mi racing shoes. I'm 6' 160lbs most days. I end up going for runs with old Mach 5s instead of those ultra-lightweight runners.

These Grabbed a pair of these. They seem like much more substantial trainers. Am I wrong?
Reviews have been great on Running Warehouse and YouTube.
Aiming for 15-20mi/week.

You'll love these coming from your background. At this price it's a great deal and they're pretty durable so they'll last you a long time. Throw in the cashback and combine with the gift card deal and it's kind of a steal.

I heard Boston12 much better compared to previous 11, which was very uncomfortable

yeah I tried 1080v11, v12, More V4, they are all so so slow. Cushion makes me slow down. I'm lean at 136 lbs with 8% bodyfat, so I prefer light fast shoes

I was literally at the Adidas Factory shop yesterday to pick up the 12s. They had plenty of both the 11s and 12s in stock and I couldn't really tell the difference. That said I do run but I'm nowhere near the caliber of people that do marathons and do tempo runs and are super serious about it. They could probably notice differences that I can't.

Just grab these Bostons imo. Really good deal and you can always return them. I've done returns with Adidas and Nike and they're both easy as can be.
