IMHO one of, if not the most underrated brands. Lightweight, good screens, solid reliability, even their keyboards I find to be surprisingly tactile for generally thin and light devices. Their prices can be high (not so much in this case) but generally more reasonable than Samsung…

But zero support. Don't expect much for firmware or driver updates from LG. I have about 20 Grams in my office. LG's attitude is like their phones were "uh, updates? Just buy a new one!".

They also made units with 9th gen CPU's after 2020 and can't run Windows 11, because they cheeped out on a TPM module... On a $1500 Laptop...

Great built units, but forget any support... For driver updates, I have to use the Intel Updater, and tell it that I'm okay with it overriding the LG "OEM" drivers...

The 15" Macbook pro retailed for $2399 in 2014, which is equivalent to $3200 today. Only more than 4x the cost of this laptop.

You're not even comparing apples and oranges. You're comparing apples and waygu steak

How is Costco with laptop returns? Do they give you any trouble?
Suppose to be 90 days. I actually bought one about a month ago but this is a better all around deal, so maybe be trying out the return for the other one.

Can it run Diablo 4? I'm happy with low settings/whatever as long as it's playable.

How are the speakers on this?
Speakers are pretty terrible on these. From the 5 or so I've bought for our office, almost everyone has complained and we end up buying some Bluetooth speakers or headset for them. They work, but don't expect them to get very loud or sound clear.

Look at the pro variant at Costco that includes a 3050, but that's over 50% more cost.

The OLED/3050 pro model is on sale for $1399, but yeah almost double the price.

This is why I always bring my own scale

I feel what I think is the same way about them. They are impressive but aren't really up to snuff for the workplace. Crazy about the TPM thing though, didn't know that there were any mass-produced PCs without TPMs so recently.

RAM not upgradable. Bummer... if it had 32 I'd be tempted.
Unfortunately the LG Grams with 32 GB RAM tend to be pricier. I actually convinced someone to buy the 17" non-touch 32 GB RAM (DDR4) version of this Gram for $1k a few months back, which at the time seemed like a deal for them. They heavily prioritize portability and a lightweight laptop, so they've been really happy with it.

But if this was available then, I probably would've convinced them to go with this instead. 16" fits in bags more easily, touch screen is a bonus they would enjoy, and since they don't use tons of applications at once, the 16 GB DDR5 would've been speedier and better overall for them. And $250 cheaper!

I have this one, bought it from costco about 18 months ago for 1099. Its a great machine, unbelievably light. It runs photoshop with ease. The fans kick into high gear a little more than I expected. If I didn't already own this, I'd definitely buy it at this price

Got the $699 deal for the Acer Swift Edge 16 about a month ago, but the fan noise is kinda making me regret the purchase. How's noise on this? The 80Wh vs 53 should also be an improvement.

https://www.costco.com/Acer-Swift...35740.html

Obviously I don't expect the screen to be as good as the Acer since that 4K OLED is spectacular, but it also drains battery quite a bit. I don't care about the touchscreen AT ALL. Keyboard layout also looks a bit worse because the numpad makes everything else smaller and puts it off-center. Tough choice.

My wife and I have the 16" with the 12th gen Intel chips. The only difference is that mine is touchscreen and hers isn't. We both LOVE our laptops as they are super lightweight and the extra M2 slot is so convenient. The 16GB RAM is a bit annoying but it does Office, web browsing, and videos just fine. But it's not good for gaming for video editing. I'm thinking of getting these for my teenage kids as well.

I've been waiting for a Lenovo Slim Pro 9i, but wow this seems like a lot of laptop for a great price and low weight to boot.
