This isn't a new offering, but awareness is always a good thing. There are more classes available than are listed in the op - a total of 151. Here's a direct link to all of Harvard's free courses:

https://pll.harvard.edu/catalog/free?page=1

If you've ever heard of auditing a class - that's exactly what this is. You get the knowledge, but you don't take tests or get actual credit. It's like sitting in the classroom as an observer, but the advantage of it being online is that the courses are self-paced. You do have to pay, IF you want a certificate verifying that you took the class.

Many colleges and universities offer similar programs. Googling "free Harvard courses" brought up the link above. Substitute "Harvard" with the name of the school you're interested in to see if they offer a similar program.

You know what would be awesome? If they made education free all the time? The increased innovation, productivity, and efficiency would make up for the cost easily. Learn if you want or don't, but education should be a right, not a privilege.

If you do this, please fight the urge to add Harvard to your LinkedIn education section
"Education: Harvard 2024"

In all seriousness though, feel free to add it to a professional development section of your resume if desired. I combined the education and certification sections of my resume so its too ambiguous for me to feel comfortable adding it, but if you have a seperate section have at it.

Education has an associated cost. I'm in favor of subsidized free education when it has demonstrated economic value, but I don't consider recreational education a right.

Ex Saturation dive training programs have a case to be subsidized while scuba diving classes do not.

Everything has an associated cost, the water you drink, even the air you breath. Not sure what your point is?

Education cost is ridiculously expensive here for regular folks.
This is a tiny gesture from Harvard for poor folks like me

Do you work for free? Someone has to pay for it, you are just suggesting forced wealth distribution. Then if it were free there would be zero innovation until we turn it over to AI and someone has to pay for those $40k Nvidia cards, and then AI tells us what to do. There is no free except for time and we as linear beings cannot escape that.

Besides there is an abundance of knowledge free or subsidized today than ever before so it boils down to the individuals time, competency, and willingness. I would go to Kahn academy (a pay a sub) which had vastly better training than the in class for my kids, especially in math.

Why? People can add whatever they want. You're some kind of academic police?
You and George Santos seem to think similarly about crafting one's resume.

After taking one class is the first thing you tell people when you meet them going to be that you went to Harvard?
