Will a simple paint job be able to restore them. Doesn't seem like a huge issue
Not really 'simple' if you want to do it right. Scrap, Sand, Prime, and Paint a bunch of chairs that have 25-30 separate pieces and all of them have edges. No thanks.

Yes, the COSTCO ones for $150 on sale recently are (were) a bargain. Sister bought some and they are as nice as ones twice that price. BJ's has similar but currently $199. Hoping they go on sale soon. Holler is you see those on sale!!
