This deal has been up for a while now, and is still ongoing. I got mine a couple weeks ago and it sounds great especially coming from my BIC PL-200 (which was great in its own right). This sub is much tighter with more clarity and of course much more output. This sub is not overly boomy, I really like itā¦ but it's HUGE for a 14" sub!
Adorama shipped it fast and the box was in perfect shape (surprising as this is close to 84lbs). Lots of people saying Adorama doesn't handle shipping well; mine was perfect.
If you can find a spot for this monster, you won't be disappointed! I believe this is the best Home Theater value you could possibly get.
Your question is akin to saying "this Toyota Corolla or this Ferrari Roma". They are both cars, but it's hard to compare the two otherwise. If your budget for a sub is $100, get the Jamo. If your budget is $700, this is a great option.
Got a pair of these to replace my dual svs pb-1000 and the diffference is telling. During movies, the subsonic bass that you can feel pressurizing your body is insane. Even with the gain at just 6, I have to turn down my AVR sub db to -2.

Wonder how this compares to the $400 SW-115 deal at Frys 6+ years ago...safer that way to just pick it up yourself locally.
I also wonder the same thing.. some reviews state a very incremental improvement. My 1400SW sounds tight and clean, but actually only measures 13 inches wide with the rubber. I recall reading about the sw115 having amp issues and this 5 year warranty on the amp is a good thing. Bigger box also seems to help with hitting lower ranges.

I think the amp issue was with the older subs and they had fixed it by 2018 since they were complaining about the issue when the SW115 deal was posted. I've never experienced that issue but maybe got lucky.
Thank you - do you think you can record your sub playing the video? Ideally cover off
Unfortunately I don't have the ability to record a video while playing music, but you can see the cone moving at 10hz. At 20hz, your pets will start running for cover.
Life changing moments for anyone with access to these films below and have this sub. I have done a lot of testing. For the record you can hear chuffing if you push this sub to the limits and at very specific frequencies, but that's with any driver known to man. For anyone considering on purchasing this - do it NOW - do it NEXT time it is on sale, whatever you do, do it. I'm planning my next already cause I am crazy. Trying to take down this house before we build another I guess. But honestly I am very curious how the 16 compares so I just might buy one for funsies. Wife said I needed more hobbiesā¦.so here we go. Haha.
Top Gun: Maverick at around 1:53:50 plus or minus 10 seconds depending if you're streaming or Blu-ray. Here I had legos on the floor in front of the subwoofer and a piece literally landed in my lap 7 feet away.
Edge of Tomorrow Intro Credits at very beginning before film - feels like an earthquake attacking your house.

Okay, so I just played the intro to the Blu-ray 5.1 copy of Edge Of Tomorrow at low volume. Could this segment actually fry an RP-1400? People are being serious about blowing their subs the fug up to this movie.
I've never felt this sub push even a fraction of that much air out of the port. The cone goes apeshit at the 10hz note, I had my gain at 4 and it still looked like it was about to bottom out. Wtf. So glad this thing has a 5-year warranty!

Lol. I'm sure anything can happen. Was there other people recommending this movie?
I can notice there is noise/scratching when I attenuate the volume to the mains during the intro scene of this movie, I'm assuming the sub is pulling so much power and putting noise back into the line or something.

Yes, that scene is commonly mentioned on youtube subwoofer review videos. It's basically considered a sub killer. Not in that it literally kills subs, but that it causes subs to start to chuff and not be able to handle the low frequency properly. My dual 1400sw subs definitely seem to handle it well, but I haven't really measured them closely, and I'm not using an ideal space.
It's not unique to this deal. I've noticed with a lot of the deals at Adorama, you indeed have to use the right link in order to see the deal price. As you saw, clicking the link from the SD page shows the deal price, whereas searching for the item on Adorama's site will show the full non-deal price.
From my limited testing, it appears to be the "emailprice=t" in the URL parameters that makes the difference, eg in this case all that's required is:
I'm more inclined to think that it's targeted at their email list, rather than targeted at SD, but who knows what the "t" value means in their webserver.
My guess? "t" is a "true" flag.
