Disagree actually. For those of us without trucks, a track saw would be amazing for breaking down sheet goods at the big box store.

731 woodworks did some pretty comprehensive reviews on track saws - and he reviewed both the wen and the ridgid. Maybe check those videos out?

Well, order tracking is a mess. Placed an order for the saw packaged with the 8ah battery listed for $399 and the 60" track. Said the saw was delivered today and the battery and track were still processing. A 6ah battery and the track were sitting in my garage… wondering what will show up in the next few days…

So does this include a 8ah battery or a 6 ah battery? Because the selection says 6 and the title says 8?
I think it would be both batteries from my experience.... kit comes with the 8Ah per title and the "extra" is the free 6Ah.... which would make this a pretty nice deal all things considered. I am in for one at that rate.

That would be nice if it in fact arrives that way. I wonder how much I would be able to return the "extra" 6ah battery for as I already have one of those floating around.

Oh, cool! Checking it out now. Appreciate your help
I watched myself and it seems he rates the RIDGID pretty high. Def above the Ryobi (which says only so much, not that there's anyting wrong with RYOBI as budget brand)..... good bang for your buck. It seems this deal comes with both 8Ah and 6Ah batteries... which I have yet to confirm.....

How's this compare to the Makita corded? Apart from the obvious power source. This and the Milwaukee were still high priced when I got mine and I have buyer's remorse. But if the Makita has way more power or does a superior job I'll stick with it.

Mark and cut. No need for a track saw to simply cut sheets in the parking lot.

Big box stores cut for you. Slick deal = saving $$$.$$ when there's a free service available (it's not free, you're paying for it when you buy "sheet goods" and supporting the business operation).

I have been using a 5 AH battery with my Makita for years and never had a problem. I'm a general contractor.

This deal is solid. No question Festool is a cabinet makers friend, however, if your cutting doors and plywood getting this Rigid with two batteries and track should be a no brainer.

My original posting only mentioned the 6-amp battery as free. $179 off is probably the original price of the 6-amp battery. Somebody else went and added the 8 amp to the listing. My thinking is the 8-amp battery listed in the title is a misprint. If anyone does get an additional 8-amp battery, they got the best deal ever on this track saw.

Good deal if you need the batteries. OK deal if they'll just be extras in your collection.

Apparently track saws are all the rage today! You can go from Web/Ryobi up to Fes in quality depending on your budget. But unless you're buying corded, sticking with whatever color tools you already have is probably the most important feature. I'm bought in to reds, so picked up the milwaukee track saw the other day.

This is one of those task-specific tools that is incredibly useful if you need it and a waste of money if not.

The HD title says it includes the 8Ah battery. It might be incorrect, since the description says it's the bare tool (+ the additional 6Ah battery) but worth a shot IMO.
