I've had Zotac cards in the past with no issues. It's tempting, but is it worth getting over the 3080 12GB I have now?
If you need it to run 4K Ultra High Resolution at high frame rates, perhaps. A 3080 is plenty for 1440p 'normal' stuff if you're willing to tweak down to high vs ultra is some graphics settings for the most demanding games. On a whim I recently bumped up from a 3080 (10GB) to a 4070 Ti Super to pick up DLSS 3 and an extra 6GB of VRAM -- but would of stayed with my 3080 without the benefit of an income tax refund.

I read recently that the 5090 might get released as soon as end of Q3. While getting your hands on one of those might be difficult, it should bring the 4090 price down even further. So, since this isn't really a necessary item for you, I'd just wait.

Listen to these guys. Depending on what you are doing or want to do the 4090 may not be all of that.
This card has less coil whine than most (all?) of the more expensive 4090. At least that was what my research told me when I was looking last year. A huge plus if you like quiet builds.

This here is the important info.
What is the non Zotac brand with the lowest coil whine?
Ive had this card for 4-5 months. Its a solid card, quiet, runs everything great. Runs cyberpunk just fine at 8k.
The only odd complaint is that Im running a Odyssey 57" which is the equivalent of two 4k monitors. It won't let me connect another monitor. It either crashes the computer or downgrades the 57" to 5k. At first I thought it was some kinda total resolution limit but my laptop with a 3070 runs this setup just fine.
Might be a firmware issue, but its not a big enough deal that Ive bother to open a support ticket. The other issue is that downloads zotacs website show up as virus like their site is unsecured. Pretty weird for a namebrand.
It was a late night emotional purchase just before 4090s jumped up in price. In retrospect I wish Id gotten the gigabyte.
