Components most changed/upgraded are RAM, SSD and GPU. All of them can be upgraded in this Dell. Comes with a 4090 and a 1000W PS. Why change power supply? 5600 DDR5 is bad? Just looking at a $2800 Lenovo Tower 7i with same CPU and they use DDR5 5200. Your unsureness on the cooling doesn't instill confidence you know what you're talking about.

This is a tired conversation. You want to build from scratch, feel free. You think there is better pre-builts, then LINK THEM to them if you truly want to help people.

MINE IS THERE TOOOOOO! I can't believe it. $1,836 net for a i9 4090 system with another $70 of dell rewards to boot!

so since they waited until After May 15 to confirm the cashback, does that mean Dell bought itself 6 months (minus 7 days) until we actually can get the cash out?

Just got my CB confirmed today also. I admit I had lost a bit of faith in that part so I'm glad it came through.

Mine showed up too! Awesome deal. BTW, this system is crazy compared to what I came from. I usually build, but I hadn't been able to find a price I liked. I realize this system is pretty locked for upgrading, but I don't anticipate it is going to need replaced for awhile as I don't usually worry about bleeding edge until the next time I upgrade.

on top of that i also did a referall for an extra $40 back, so yay. I don't know if this was a pricing mistake or not, but if it was I'm glad everyone came through.

I came from a [email protected] with a 290x lol. I was way past due for an upgrade.

Weird thing happened. I walked away for a few minutes. When I came back it was booted to what looked like a BIOS recovery and it said "No Hard Drive Detected". Ctrl+Alt+Del and it ended up trying to PXE boot so I thought woah, did my 990 Pro already die? Got into BIOS and somehow my boot order had switched to network boot for options 1 and 2 and Windows Boot Manager for option 3. Moved Windows Boot Manager to 1 and booted back up just fine. HWINFO64 shows temps look good and Samsung Magician shows a good temp as well as a successful diag test. Weird!!

[edit]
Oh wow, apparently my computer initiated a support ticket without my even knowing about it. Dell support already emailed me about it with suggestions. They even know about the drive swap!! Adding in a picture. The link to the BIOS they are providing 2.7.0 (a little newer than what we have now) is https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER1148434....0_x64.exe in case anyone else needs it. I updated to it without issue.

So, just some updates on my experience.

I was noticing some weird issues where my monitor would not wake up after a reboot. I also noticed some weird cutting out of the display once in a while that I didn't see when I first got the system. For me, I narrowed it down to the BIOS version. My system did not like being on 2.7 so I downgraded the BIOS back to 2.6 and she is happy again. Reboots are fixed.

Looking at the update page https://www.dell.com/support/home...16-desktop looks like that version solved 4 security issues. The first two are out of bounds write vulnerabilities, 3rd some JRE updates and the 4th remediates an input validation issue. Guessing there are probably a bunch of other unspecified fixes in there. I wish BIOS updates were more transparent about what is fixed. Pretty much always been that way Frown

At least you're ok for now!! I'm driving 3 screens (one 4k, two 2k) on Displayport and haven't seen any visual issues to date.

Dell current deal for Intel 14900KF CPU and 4090 GPU and with new dell account 10% off, 12% cash back , 5% from BoA or Chase ($100 max) and split with American Express $50 off $250. This would be better system for similar price

the current offer is $600 more and cashback is 3% less. Not really comparable

If you minus the upgraded CPU, SSD 2TB and killer wifi then it get closer to $300 difference

You could get the KF (i think it was $100 more) and it came with the killer wifi. Seems KF may be a waste on this system though because of the power locking bios stuff. I haven't really seen a clear answer to this.

Anyone want to buy one of these in Dallas/Plano TX area? I had mine sitting in a box here and not gonna end up using it. Only for public meet up.

Also would potentially sell the 4090 by itself locally if you don't need the whole pc.
