I have extremely flat feet, almost too flat for the EE width so the shoes I normally get have some breakage near the arc. About a week of wearing them and have felt very comfortable in them
Oh please. No one runs 20 miles in the lowly Rincon.
yes the colors / style are not for everyone. but ask anyone that wears them and they will confirm that the comfort far outweighs looks (Hence the popularity). i find them to be less durable than other brands, but i am willing to make that trade off for long term foot comfort.
i have a few rincons, which i don't like quite as much as other models (Challenger, Clifton) due to their padded tongue which the rincon lacks.
I used to have this view. But then I tried some New Balance shoes with Fresh Foam X foam. It's a step up from Hoka's CMEVA. 5 years ago Hoka had a clear comfort advantage over other brands. Now there's some solid alternatives. Asics also has a better foam (FFBlast+) now in their premium ath-leisure model, the Gel Nimbus.
I have 7 pairs of hokas. Unfortunately i thought I was getting a good deal on $89 rincon 3s, but they fit terribly. Too narrow and too long. I tried fighting them for a while but donated them to good will.
If you are in the fence for rincons, i would pass. They're the only pair out of 7 hokas that were terrible. Makes you wonder why the rincons are constantly on clearance
