I'm open minded and believe people should have their own style, but man most of these shoes are ugly af.

So I had to look that up. It's $30 a month and every 6 months they send you a new pair and you send back your old pair for recycling. Comes out to ~$180 for each pair of shoes 2x a year. Seems to be marketed towards avid runners. People can make up their own mind if that's worth it or not.
I think companies are using the same Marketing strategy they use with bicyclists. Bicyclists what to spend a set amount that's large, say $400, on something specific like brakes because they love bicycling so much. So companies make brakes available for $400 so bicyclists can buy them for $400. Bicyclists don't get what they pay for. They get to pay the $400, like they wanted, to get the brakes that Glitter the most in that price range.

Correct think of them as high top running shoes. North Faces brand I tried. They're awesome they weigh as much as a basketball shoe I believe this is what hiking boots will morph into
Hard to read, yet good analysis

Right. They should offer their recycling to anyone that buys that shoe and orders a new pair after 6 months.
The "recycling" is throwing the shoes in the dumpster so theyre not given away to a potential shoe customer. Zero chance any actual recycling would have smaller carbon footprint than the shipping services needed to send them across the country. Total sham.

Seeking suggestions for running shoes. I tried Cloud but wasn't impressed given the price. I currently have Adidas Ultraboost and Asics Gel 5, finding them comfortable. Any recommendations from the brands you mentioned for my next pair?
Newbalance is very underrated

This company is a joke. They have a "subscription" shoe that cost $30 month in the name of sustainability. Trying to take the world one step closer to preventing anyone from owning anything.
which company is that?

$100 each…. I Still have two feet $200. Might be a good deal for my buddy that lost his leg in an accident years ago.

Got a pair of Cloud 5 Coasts a year ago and they are my least worn shoe. Get them if you enjoy the design aesthetic, but don't get them if you want a running shoe that you can run in. Look for deals from brands like Brooks, Hoka, Saucony, and Mizuno instead
Agree 100% - bought a pair last spring wearing them most of one 3 week trip to CO and a couple months later they were toast support-wise. Loved the look but a failure on the support front compared to Brooks.
