I had the S23 ultra (for 3 months) and s24 ultra, battery life has been great on both of them. I set them to 80% max charge and get way more than a full day out of them with heavy use. With light use 2 days is easy. If the base model s23 is different then my apologies.

As long as we are talking about how much iphones suck. My wife has an iphone 13 pro and I run with the s24 ultra. It's amazing how many things she wants to do that she can't do with an iphone and I can with a s24 ultra. Certainly if you like being constrained to apple's ecosystem then it's a non issue. Boy do they nickel and dime you for everything. I can't even send her ring tones, audio books etc. I had to give her a loaner phone that actually allows her to access a file server and to load her own audio files on it.

I'm still rocking the S20 Ultra and love it!! Plus, I still use my SD card for much more storage than newer models.

That is how I felt ten years ago, but just two months ago, I tried an iPhone and now the do everything my S22+ did as far as running apps, including Tailscale to access my NAS via cell signal, BlueIris cameras, etc. You just need to figure learn which took me a week in my spare time. Unlike my S22+, the new iPhone keeps my default data sim setting; Shortcuts work perfectly, unlike Bixby; WiFi Calling stays on for both sims instead of being randomly disabled like on my S22+. I prefer android and really hate the left brained Apple keyboard illogic, but there is the MyKeyboard app which is awesome. If you can manage both Windows & Unix/Linux servers, phones are pretty simple switching between iPhones & Android, you just need to take the time to learn. I was anti-iPhone until I gave it a chance after having been tourtured by my Samsung Galaxy S22+.

I have an S23U and came from the S23U. They have similar idle drain, but the 23 has longer screen usage. I've gotten 13-15hrs of screen usage across multiple days (used app to track usage). My S22U would be closer to 9-10hrs with the same type of apps.

After Oneui 6 the S23U is draining rapidly at times, despite no change in my app usage.
