But the worst thing - The design/shape of the knife, combined with their low opening force, made it so they easily opened inside my pocket. One day I reached in to grab my keys, and stabbed my hand good. Blood everywhere. Only knife I've ever used that did that.
Decided not to carry any more statgear knives after that. They're still in my glove compartment for emergency use - with some blue tape wrapped around them for safety.

These are $5 knives sold for $10
There may be a place or two where you want to run some sand paper over it to smooth it.
I can't imagine trying to make a knife half as good for even 5x the price, so it's a deal for me.
Might be able to glue a tint neodymium magnet in it if you want more initial resistance to opening.

A quality knife from 1990 - 440c, liner lock, thumb stud, g10 scales - very hard to go wrong. Get it from a reputable company like Boker Germany, etc.
you'll never need to buy another for the rest of your life.
