Decided not to carry any more statgear knives after that. They're still in my glove compartment for emergency use - with some blue tape wrapped around them for safety.

There may be a place or two where you want to run some sand paper over it to smooth it.
I can't imagine trying to make a knife half as good for even 5x the price, so it's a deal for me.
Might be able to glue a tint neodymium magnet in it if you want more initial resistance to opening.

A quality knife from 1990 - 440c, liner lock, thumb stud, g10 scales - very hard to go wrong. Get it from a reputable company like Boker Germany, etc.
you'll never need to buy another for the rest of your life.
