Edit: I've personally traded in several devices (phones and watch) in Mountain View. In all instances they physically took the device and gave me credit instantly. I can't personally vouch for the other stores.

I think most people who have problems with the trade are the same folks sending in garbage and claiming they sent in something pristine. Also the average IQ in the US is double digits, so there's that too.

Buy and bring trade in to google store?
This is their only question, after answeing it, it gives you the value of your trade in. I selected an iPad 6Th gen. Answered "Yes" to question below.
"Answer yes if your device turns on, is free of cracks, and the screen works properly"
And it gave me $399 trade in value for my iPad 6th gen. Theyre not expecting a flawless device, they wouldn't get many trade ins if they did. If they need to replace your screen then that would cost a lot which they'd rather not do. Scratches are fine, their concerns are mentioned in their question below. Just use some common sense for these things, no need to be so cautios and afraid of everything. Send in a device and see for yourself, buy the one in the link for $99. If it dont work out, return it. Find another one if not available
