I got a pack of these about 6 months ago and they wouldn't work in most things. We used them in electric candles for about 2 months, then they stopped working in those as well. I e-recycled them.
are we still doing eneloop or bust?
Unless they are Made in Japan then they are not made by FDK (the company that makes eneloop, fujitsu, Ladda, etc). However I am not saying Amazon are bad but they are not comparable in quality to those but if they are close then who cares. I will say I have MIJ eneloops, energizer, fujitsu, amazon (old days) and some are going on 10 years strong. I haven't had a MIC Amazon go south yet but they def run higher internal resistance and don't hold charge as well but for non critical apps and the price they are a great value. The Amazon C-cells are def a bust. No where near nominal charge and voltage profile (sag) bad. I use AA w/ adapter which is not ideal, but eh. For the price/quality/nominal charge I favor the Ikea as #1.

EBL, tenergy, any of the other off brands have all had 50% or more failure rate (all MIC). So I will not be buying them again.

I've bought these amazon basics batteries twice now and I've been disappointed. They are pretty inconsistent in size. It depends how battery cases are constructed but these don't fit in everything. Sometimes I need to really squeeze them in because they are just slightly too big. Sometimes they fit in the case but they don't touch the metal contacts. Sometimes I need to try a different combination of these batteries to find ones that are actually the correct size of a AA battery.

Due to these not consistently being the correct size of AA batteries, I would pass and go for a major brand, even if they say the maH or whatever is less. At least they will fit in products that take batteries.

My obligatory comment about these batteries:
Quote :
These batteries are very low quality. Avoid. I regret buying both AAA and AA sizes. Buy Eneloop or Panasonic. Also, Ikea branded batteries are supposed to be rebadged Eneloop. I bought some recently, they seem to be working fine. Only time will tell if they are decent in the long run or not.

Dont know what ppl complaining about, I have these from 1 yr ago or so and they all have internal resistance of 16-18mOhm, better than brand new energizers, and comparable with original white Sanyo eneloops when they were new, like 15 yrs ago. Those white eneloops now have IR 100-200 mOhm and only good for low drain devices so these are now used in cameras and flashes where Eneloops were before

The price is regular though, I have them in my cart for awhile now, nothing changed.
How are your Amazon 2000 mAh only 16mOhms? All mine measure 60+ mOhms at room temperature. I have never seen an AA NiMh measure below 50mOhms. Even my Eneloop 2000 are only 50mOhms.

I measure with ToolkitRc and Nitecore chargers. Maybe yours is AC ir?

Always check the listed voltage on rechargeable AA and AAA, these are 1.2v not the normal 1.5v these will not work in everything that uses AA or AAA.

Yeah, that number didn't sound right to me either. Yours sound about right.

Voltage is determined by chemistry. NiMH is always 1.2V per cell. They will still work with most devices. 1.5V alkaline cells will also hit 1.2V, before they are fully discharged.

Currently I like the Ikea Ladda batteries. Before, I have used the Eneloops and Duracell pre-charged but I prefer the Ladda now. I feel Eneloops which I have had for a long time don't hold charges for length of time anymore as far as pre-charged goes.
So, the currently sold LADDAs are still made by FDK? (The Eneloop maker)

Measurement with the charger will never be precise as it is just estimation. Must have device with 2 connectors to each side, or battery with balance wires like LiION/Lipo. I have dedicated device and I also confirmed these numbers with manual measurement via battery voltage drop on various loads.

see if you can open this - i.ibb.co/Js240g2/image-2024-05-10-083208204.png
I just pulled them from my DSLR camera.

This measures any battery, for example fresh car battery reads 2 mOhm.

PS my ToolkitRC refuses to measure NiMH IR, just lipo\lion with balance leads

Thanks OP. Picked up these and 24 AAA. Energizer non rechargeable hold about 2000mah. These are about the same price. So basically after 1 recharge, these pay for themselves. I have had these for a few years now and still hold ~2000mah.

Funny you say that, this guy says that the EBL's are pretty good. But as usual YMMV

Most alkaline AA batteries are rated for about 2850mAh. However, their effective capacity is much lower, unless discharged at a very low rate. At moderate to high rates, NiMH can vastly outlast them.

That's interesting but it doesn't contradict what I said. The lowest discharge rate used in that video was 100mA. I was stating their official ratings.Example. [energizer.com]

It pretty much contradicts your entire statement. 100mah is an extremely low discharge rate and Energizer only made it to 2000mah.

Yeah I bet the manufacturer would never inflate their numbers lol
