Did it today and MSFT says my subscription ends on Sept 08, 2025
EDIT: That seems to include 1 month bonus on top of the 15 months for setting up auto-renew (which you can cancel later and is done as a matter of course in the transaction anyway).
Side Note: Would be willing to trade the McAfee if anyone needs this. I have a VPN already.

You can add it now and it just extends a subscription for15 Months. I have a couple stacked through 2026 right now.
I give my extra licenses to two kids, my in-laws and a brother with one to spare. EACH gets 1TB OneDrive and can use on their individual devices. I've used this method for over 10 years. My relatives appreciate it a lot and think it costs way more than it does. Win win!
