I tried this after hearing many rave about it. It was quite unpleasant IMHO. I gagged when I first tried it as it tasted like dirty feet smell 🤢 I ended up throwing it out and made REAL mac n cheese from scratch.

Obviously nothing out of a box is going to compete with homemade, but boxed is much quicker and easier, and typically costs less to make.
IMO Annie's makes the best boxed Mac and Cheese (at least out of the handful of brands I've had), and the white shells and cheddar is my favorite variety. I have several friends and family members that feel the same way, and was pleased to see Andrew Rea (aka Babish) come to the same conclusion in his recent boxed Mac and Cheese comparison.
I eat a box every week. Sadly to say of course. It's so tasty though. Here is how to do it:
1. Boil water
2. Fry bacon
3. Dry bacon against paper towel
4. Season and fry ground turkey with SPG very hot to get browning
5. Add pasta to water
5. Add pinto or black beans from can on the side of the pan with mexican style chili seasoning.
6. Drain pasta and add a chunk of butter, some half and half and mix to get a wet pasta with some sauce.
7. Add cheese slowly as you stir into the pasta. Skip the separate pan method, it is never needed.
8. Add crumbled bacon, mix.
9. Add ground turkey on top as a pile.
10. Add beans next to ground turkey.
11. Enjoy
