Still this is a great deal to save on that subscription if you have a Target card as you get 5% ($2.25) off the card too.........the downside is the 5% Target credit, which I imagine is not as easily/ quickly used as Amazon (same deal right now).

I had it working for several months using a VPN to Argentina but for some reason Google says it wasn't able to collect payment from my card on file . Has it always worked without interruption for you?

Don't buy Google Play cards!!! They're well known for not being able to be redeemed. Gives you an error along the lines of not being able to verify your account/identity. Google has ZERO support to help you if this occurs. Check online reviews before you gamble your hard earned money.

It just redeemed okay for me when I added it to my Google account? The Target one won't let me add to my account so I just took a screenshot of it instead.

I lost about $30 in Google Play credit for this exact reason. Bought cards from Target. Got an error. After contacting Target/Google a dozen times for help, they literally did nothing whatsoever. I left a review on Targets site along with plenty of others with the exact issue… and many of those reviews have since been taken down. Super sketchy.

Went above and beyond to use them correctly and follow up with receipts/proof of purchase. I will never again in a million years buy a Google Play card.

I wish you could use them on the Google Store like Apple cards to buy hardware. I refuse to pay for apps. I have like $50 in credit from the Google Opinions surveys going wasted. The only way to cash out is through games that payout 1:1 through affiliate portals (i.e SwagB, MistPlay, InboxDollars, etc.).

Same thing happened to me, except purchased at Walgreens. Got the "need more info" error from Google and even after uploading receipt, it failed to let me use my gift card.

I think it's some sort of AI anti-scammer detection gone haywire because there are a ton of complaints on Amazon and Reddit.

In the end I got back my money by filing a credit card chargeback. Also learned my lesson about trusting a company like Google with no human support. I have never had a problem with Apple gift cards.

Well known? I've had YouTube tv and premium for years and always use cards. If you buy them for legit places then you are ok, if you buy from shady places then you are not

Amazon.com, Walgreens, and Target are "legit places" with customers complaining about such errors. Just because you have no issues doesn't mean it doesn't happen to others.
