This is my go to repair kit as a desktop technician. It has pretty much everything you'd ever need for phones tablets and computers. The quality is great. Sure there are other cheapo brands. Three things I like about it (I have a kit at home and at work) are the grounding armband, the magnetic section of the case, and that you can pull out the box of driver bits separately -and the lid has a bunch of sectioned squares with a raised edge to place screws you remove and keep the ordered for reinstallation.

The different tweezers are also extremely good quality (especially compared to cheaper sets)

This may not be the cheapest set, but if you are looking for one toolkit for repairing electronics this is it.
iFixIt is worth supporting if you can afford it, but this Harbor Freight has a similar kit for $38 and they often have coupons: https://www.harborfreight.com/ele...59258.html
Not sure this is worth $60. Thanks for posting anyway.

Quote from siberstorm27 :
Shady company. They release a lot of misinformation on youtube about existing devices or technologies, mostly slandering anything that isn't obviously repairable and hurts their own bottom line. Their video on the evils of wireless charging are hilarious.
It's not misinformation if it's true.
If you have a watt power meter, you can confirm yourself that wireless charging does take more power than wired charging. And I can personally confirm that my phone got really hot when charging wirelessly.
If you watch the video about wireless charging [youtube.com] all the way to the end, iFixit is transparent about their conclusion: "Is the convenience of not dealing with cables worth the hidden environmental impact? Well, it's clear that wireless charging is here to stay. So if you must go wireless, choose wisely. The MagSafe and Qi-2 certified devices will produce less waste than the Qi-1 devices and older generation uncertified wireless charging pugs." If they were as evil as you claim, they would have come to a black-and-white conclusion to viewers that you should never use wireless charging, which they didn't.

Also, iFixit supports repairability, even when it's not small electronics (i.e., doesn't affect their own bottom line). For example, they support Right-to-Repair for farming equipment like tractors from John Deere.

This is definitely a good quality set. Part of my job for number of years was to repair 'toughbooks'. The driver is where the magic is at. Small enough to press down with your palm. The swivel at the top glides easy making short work of things plus easy on the wrists. The bits are durable and have everything you could ever want. The PH0 bit was starting to lose its coating after a few years of using it everyday. They sell individual bits in their store. I recommend the smaller 64 bit set or the combined one if you don't want all the extra stuff. Stay away from the plastic driver in the super cheap sets.

I would argue most home users are going to be fine with the regular kit. It has 10% off as well. They are good quality bits and I've used them a number of times already

https://a.co/d/gyncpkV these and some opener tools seems like a lot better value to me. I've had this set for years without issue. I like some of what ifixit has done but they aren't a charity and neither am I.

Picked up this set last year when I started getting into fixing up more electronics around the house but couldn't stomach iFixit prices. I'm not a heavy user and haven't had any QA issues with it.

samee, got like 4 kits during their sellout...RIP frys.

a lot of people crapping over the ifixit kit, my kit is still in great condition aside from the few lost bits and the bent up tweezers. its worth the investment for quality parts.

Yeah, the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit [ifixit.com] from iFixit is the same price. I suspect Amazon lowered their price because iFixit is having a 20% off sale on this item. However, you'll have to pay shipping on iFixit's store... it was $8.45 for me in NY.
Ships from: Amazon
Sold by: IFixit

Actually, it's not sold by Amazon, it's sold by iFixit through Amazon, so it seems iFixit lowered their price on Amazon to match their own sale. (at least, I think that's how that works. non-Amazon sellers control their own price, more or less. I think some can turn the pricing over to Amazon's secret algorithms, but doesn't seem to be the case here) But, of course, Amazon still gets their cut, regardless, so buying direct gives more to iFixit's good works.

Yes, I did hack it many years ago with a chip. But you can also open to replace battery, insert better metal Latches on Joy-cons. But it has a lot of specialty bits you don't find in a Craftsman or Kobalt type general bit kit.

Going to reach out to them to see if warranty coverage includes broken bits or any bent tools.
