These offers are for new customers only with a new number or a number that hasn't been on Mint in 90 days. Some people choose to use a google voice number as their main number, then get a new mint number (updating the GV forwarding) every few months to get a deal, but you run the risk of your phone's IMEI blocking you from getting the deal. In the past it wasn't an issue but that can change any time.

Thanks - we're on US Mobile for $23/month per line (unlimited everything) so I'll probably stick to it.

Clarification to the comment about IMEI blocking....I've never had an issue but a dual sim phone or alternating phones if you have two you like resolves this issue. Tmobile hasn't even had an issue with two accounts on the SAME IMEI (I have a tmobile model oneplus 7 pro that I've converted to the international model which activates the dual sim but as a result the same imei is applied to both sim slots)..the actual international model op7pro has unique IMEI's for each slot.

Main problem with this is that texting to a Google Voice number only arrives as an email. You can then use an email to SMS forwarding service, but the email forwarding info come through — its not elegant, and there is some latency involved.
I receive all of my Google voice texts, as texts, just fine using the Google voice app.

Has there ever been a situation where Mint offers a deal that you can purchase and apply to an existing account? Something simple and straightforward like adding a promo code or gift card number to your account for a credit, or something else similar?

I've been using Mint since October and I've been surprised with the quality for the price. I did the 3 months for $15 each promo and then paid for a full year of 15 GB data. I'm getting faster data than my home internet. I only get 300 megabit through wifi but through the tower, I'm getting over 1 gigabit. It was around $240 for the 12 months prepaid so $20 per month. Wayyy better than the $90 per month I was paying at Verizon and I'm getting much better signal and speeds than Verizon.

I also have no issues whatsoever getting texts on my GV number using the app.

I think this person may be receiving GV texts that are being forwarded to their email because they don't have the GV app installed. There's a setting in GV to "forward messages to email".

By the way, one of the best features of using a GV number is you and send and receive texts on your laptop/desktop PC by going to "voice.google.com"

Have never had that problem it's probably bad configuration. I get sms and also email confirmation. That's how I set it up.

How do you convert to Intl model ? Or do you mean you had single sim and you converted it to dual sim phone? In either case, i wanna know more , if you don't mind sharing links / details. Thanks!
