This is the regular price for the same thing at Harbor Freight
CCC shows that it's been this price for months.
Dollar Tree version has a much smaller and much weaker magnet.

I think I paid about $3.50 (or less, can't remember exactly), but anyone can just wait for a sale and it's even cheaper..... Anyone that lives close to a HF store should compare prices.

Probably no so much the Amazon referral money... so much as staff is lazy and don't actually want to put any work in.

I can see how seeing the same deal again is annoying, especially if you didn't like it the first time, but if a deal is popular enough to make front page staff wouldn't be doing their jobs if they didn't post it again, since some people would have missed it. If SDers lose interest staff won't touch it unless there is a price drop, so let's hope one of those things happens soon. I think repeat deals won't be so boring if there are also lots of fresh ones, so there is always room for improvement.

I have had terrible results with the larger 5-lb / 10-lb / made-up-number telescoping style - unless the design has been changed, the force of pulling the magnet to extend the shaft results in the crimp letting go and the magnet popping off the end after a few uses. I bought three or four, and none survived.

I've had much better results with the smallest size in the telescoping style, seen here as "3.5-lbs":

https://www.amazon.com/Rechabite-...B0BGR9ZRKB

or the flex shaft style (sometimes used as the last link of a telescoping shaft):

https://www.amazon.com/GUTIMORE-F...B09SL86Y59

or another I can't find an example of, where there is a hinged joint between the magnet and the shaft. I still have all of those.

Edit: Yes, I drop a lot of important things that are hard to find! The carb needle was the worst.
