They don't have to make money off you, and may be willing to run a business that takes a manageable loss.
Of course, it also means they probably are not the most honest people and you should be somewhat more careful with your information sharing. A single use credit card number might be a good idea.
You should just avoid them. They clearly have no problem with acting in criminal manner, let alone other things.
But how is their service ? I am currently with Mint on a $15/month plan. Is it worth it to jump to this one ? I am a bit concerned about the port-out issued ? Pls comment
Stay on Mint Mobile, more reliable, and Lyca has some criticism, apparently customer service is very scummy. And I trust Mint to have more reliability.
Not true. Provide the below info over email or phone call to their customer service and you'll get the account number and pin. They might take 24 hrs to respond over email
Your name, Lyca phone number, service address, registered date of birth, last recharge/plan amount and date, 3 or 5 most contacted numbers over text or call
Keep your sim card number, PUK code from the main Sim card handy or click a Pic of it.
Also, once you register, be sure to create a customer identification pin CIP
THIS! Keep the above in mind if you do port-in, especially the bit about top contacted number.
I had much difficulty with providing one of top 3 most contacted numbers because I hardly called as I mostly used data.
I repeatedly called a fixed number over the course of a week in order to build up a history. The call history is also not immediate, so you have to wait a few days before it becomes part of that history.
If you have someone you call frequently then you're sorted.
Personally, I would stick with Mint Mobile after that bad experience.
I just ported out 4 lines in March. The port out process was only frustrating for one of my lines as my wife was not with me and it was the first time they asked for a confirmation text code to provide the port out info. The other part of the process that was frustrating was that I couldn't do the port out in one call for more than one line. I got the port out pins and the account number a day or two before the plans expired.
Honestly I'd probably rejoin if I knew I could be a new customer so soon after leaving, but often 3-6 months of separation is required.
These types of deals aren't really for the type of users that ever needs to call customer service.
you dont really need to call customer service really apart from wifi calling setup. I think after data breach they are super careful. I dont understand why people have so much complain when they are paying 40% tax easily to IRS and not complain a bit for 100% hike in grocery price
Hotspot included on the $10 plan mentioned and add'l Gb @ $2 per. Also not deprioritized if on the Verizon towers. No way I'd switch to this plan.
your choice. its $2 less + 1 extra GB + unlimited data. Data prioritization, its not primary carrier quality for sure. Lyca gives 100-150 Mbps as well who cares about mobile data speed all the time

The company appears to be a front for money laundering.
