Be careful with Hisense and buying their premium sets. I and many others got burned badly when their sets started dying en masse about 2 years after purchase. Well documented and yet Hisense did nothing for customers thst purchased these $1000+ TVs. Stick to the sun $400 and you won't be as pissed when it dies.

Yes I obviously had a horrible experience with them. Take what you will.
I paid about 800 for mine almost 2 years ago. and I do not regret it... it looks like an oled but it's not.

Colors and all really pop, and I love that it has a subwoofer-built in.
Worth mentioning, this is the new N series that just came out. U8N, U7N, etc

Is repairing the LEDs hard? I have a bedroom tv that looks like it has a tiny area where the LEDs failed. Was gonna repair it myself but haven't touched it since we rarely use that thing.

Generally ya.. At that point I give lol soldering new LEDs is a tough ordeal if your comfortable soldering do it

Same thing happened to me right after one year. Absolutely ridiculous, never buy this brand. Go browse their reddit for a few minutes...

I bought the U8H two years ago when it first dropped. Probably got the first or second batch and it still works fine for me. Sound and picture still as fresh when I got it.

For those concerned about reliability, Greentoe sells multi year CPS warranties for this and other TVs for a very reasonable price. Other than that, I am happy with my 75U8K, and this should be an improvement.

But they sell extended warranties for any TV out there. A 3-year warranty for this TV that starts after the manufacturer's warranty is $100.

I am here not to dispute anyone's claims that Hisense tv's are a risk to buy. I am just going to give you some straight up facts. I own a 65" U8K, 75" U7G and a 55U7H. I have had zero issues with all 3 of them. Let me say that again. All 3 of these models have performed perfectly for me. If I have ever had any problems it has been with the Amazon prime app on every one of these tvs. Never could get it to work so just use an iPad xbox or ps5 instead. Other than that no issues. Handshakes with my avr work fine. Colors vibrancy and HDR all work well. Gaming is great and the 65" is my main PC monitor which outputs 144hz at 4k and 240hz at 1080p. The mini led on this U8k is bright. The full gaming menu works really well. I thought about upgrading the U7G 75 to a U8k 75 but honestly except for the newer Google O.S. vs the Android one and support for Apple air play there isn't a substantial reason to trade up. The picture is just as good now as it was the day I first unboxed it set it up and turned it on. So just my own experience. 3 for 3. No dead pixels smearing ghosting etc.. Just great bang for the buck performance and everything I could ever want to satisfy both my movies and gaming. Hope this helps and encourages people out there that the U7 and U8 series of tvs are worth it.

I really appreciate this. Are you considering the U8K to a U8N? I'm trying to decide if I spend the extra on the new N or save a few bucks and buy a K

It's not huge percentage wise(13.5%). However, 12 ft is far. I watch a 135 inch screen from 13.5 feet. I have an 85 inch and previously a 75 inch in my basement with a 9.5ft viewing distance. 85 inches was a significant upgrade for immersion, especially with wider aspect ratio movies. However, I almost exclusively watch movies on the big screen. I don't think many regret going bigger if you can accommodate it. Or you may want a 77 inch OLED for a better quality picture. I mean you can get a qd-oled s89/90C for $250 more. Or you just don't care enough, which is fine too.

The N comes in at 2000 nits vs 1500 on the K. The stand is a pedestal on the N. 2 metal feet that can be placed in 2 different slots narrow or wide.onK. Both have Google O.S. use the same remote. Apple airplay is baked in on both. Both use the same ADS panel, basically IPS, and have that glossy look. Both have the game menu, and for the price difference, I would get a bigger size of a U8K vs. a smaller size of a U8N. Like I stated before, I bought a U7G in 2020, and it is still going strong. It's not mini led, but it still looks great. It's why I am finding it very hard to justify replacing it with a U8k. It is kinda comical that the newer U8k is less than I spent on the U7G when I purchased it. Better tech upgraded O.S. etc.. Newer model higher tier lower price. Same size tv.

I was mistaken. The N is double the dimming zones and double the peak brightness values as the k is. 3000. Vs 1500. I just looked it up but it's also showing $1999.00 now not $1599.00. At that point no question about it I would buy the k for and save $900.00

You really need to re-read the thread description...
"$1999.99 + Plus Membership ($50) - $500 (w/ Plus Membership) = $1549.99
OR $1499.99 if already a BB Plus Member."
