Just a kind note: DT is NOT wide-feet friendly. The "toe" of the sock is meant for a more narrow toe as it's a bit boxy at the "toe". So their more "performance" or "casual" socks can fit...funny. I could never get it to "work" right without that very messy feeling of the top of your sock kinda flapping or whatnot.

I was also informed by DT that when ordering their casual line to order a size down, as again, if you don't have a wide foot it can feel very loose in the toe. I did that and unfortunately it lead to one pair getting a hole in the toe area....which was a bit sad as I barely wore the socks! DT has amazing customer service though and it took about 10 total days for me to send/receive replacements.

NOW, NOW, NOW.....their actual cushioned socks?!?!? WHEW! Those are where you wanna spend your money. I'd never recommend their performance/casual line but their cushioned is amazing for my feet. Almost no toe issue. That merino wool is great and my feet never felt sweaty. Quarter/full/calf...those pairs were amazing and look pretty dang new.

I've switched to injinji socks for the non-cushioned socks of life and those are amazing. I'll never leave DT for actual fall/winter socks and likely I'll never NEED to replace these socks and that nice thickness they have.

Basically, get the wool socks. Skip that nylon-based stuff if you have wide feet.

These are my favorite socks. They last, are comfortable, wick sweat away from your foot and they reduce odor substantially. You could wear these for days if needed.
I thought that the more cushioning the better, but that hasn't been the case for me. I prefer the light cushioning. Any more may affect the fit of my shoes. By the way, it is great to have socks with choice of size. One size does not fit my feet (size 7) well.
For those concerned about price, the lifetime warranty is a nice feature. They also last a very long time before they wear a hole and you have to send them back. Still, these cost more than bargain socks. For me, the fit, comfort, lack of odor and durability makes these well worth the cost. I am very cheap, but I'm willing to spend some money to protect my feet.

I was a gold toe fan for years, but last year I got an order from kohls with multiple no show socks packages, and they weren't even consistent. Some were made in one country, others in another, and although the components were the same, one pack was well padded and the other was slick junk.

Not quite sure I'm ready for $12 pairs either! Is anyone putting out a good mid level sock these days?

Maybe $20-25 a 6 pack but that will last two years? Or is it all just junk now?

I'm the definition of a cheapskate, just barely shy (most of the time) of dumpster diving. I buy Darn Tough socks and think they're absolutely worth every cent.

Anyone's socks pick up lint after putting it in the wash/dryer? Can't get it off.

Not after a wash. But you can use a wool fabric shaver and they will look brand new if you have any pilling or lint

I was Goldtoe fan for years, and I didn't understand why should I pay $15 for one pair of socks, instead of 6 pairs of Goldtoe. Well until I tried one pair of Darn Tough, and never come back to Goldtoe. It just fits way better, never feels baggy, no sweaty feet, and so on.

This is my go-to brand for hiking, running, and walking all day socks. I am in the process of doing warranty return on one of the pair from 2.5 years ago, claim is super easy, just have to pay for shipping the socks all the way to Vermont if there is no close place to take them in, a bit pricy from SoCal

I like these brand especially for hiking/trail running, comfortable and less prone to blisters. Are these worth $15-25 a pair? For all day wearing them yes.

Just ordered 3 more pairs. I've got a drawer full now.

Both GoBros and DarnTough have great return policy and warranty if you have any issues. I got full refund from GoBros for a couple pairs that had defective bulgy seams that I didn't like, which I then donated to charity. I've sent some in for warrently that have gotten holes due to carpet nails, angry cats, etc. You pay return shipping, they give you store credit to buy replacements on the DarnTouch site and ship them to you for free.

Might want to do a little research. These are great for the desert. Merino wicks and doesn't get stinky. Great at regulating temperature too.
