You didn't read into it with essential cameras; not arlo fault you don't look into your limitations of the cloud cameras
Arlo was one of the beginning cameras to do wifi cameras properly than the stupid ip cameras that messed to be setup by router settings

I had an Arlo Pro 2. Comes with 7 day cloud storage...no subscription...life
Then Arlo changed to subscription. Tired to get all existing customers to pay for the subscription, ending the 7 day storage I'd already up paid a premium for. Then they pretty much ended all worthwhile features (notifications). Liked them while I had them, but what's the point of no receiving notifications of activity on a security system?
That's why I don't support Arlo anymore. Quit victim blaming.
Eufy is not subscription based. Not sure if this requires the base that it mentions compatible with or not.

That marketing sounds good, but it is a 2.5 inch drive. Largest I could find is 5TB.
