2 is my favorite in the series but I enjoyed all of them.

2 > 3 > 4 > 1

I might be a bit biased since I played 2 more than the others.

The "Mexican Spider Man" game. I played through one of these and the plot was kind of terrible, something about a "people's revolt" and engineered climate change. I did laugh at one point after the revolt happened and the announcer on the radio started talking about the new government becoming tyrannical. Mechanics and stuff were fun, I liked being attacked by helicopters and just spidermanning my way into the cockpit and using the helicopter myself. Worth a few bucks if you are actually going to play it.

What a wild ride it was playing these first few games for the first time as a kid.

Buy the first one if you want an understanding of the series and technology behind it.

There's a certain level of appreciation that you will never get from the sequels.

They leaned more into the grapple, wingsuit and vehicles, but a lot less on the liberation mechanic.
The island absolutely felt alive though, which was great!

They really dumbed that aspect down in many ways, and IIRC changed slightly how it works, but overall if you enjoy the potential lunacy, still a lot of fun and worth $3.50.

4 has some great grapple/tether mechanics, but I don't find it quite as enjoyable as 2 and 3. I have the most hours in JC2, but really like some of the added features of 3 and 4. JC4 is a lot of fun if you like to tether things together and cause chaos.

$3.50 will easily provide hours of fun if you like the JC series.

These games are great in a "junk food" kind of way. Not the best story or graphics, but the gameplay is just pure fun!

Part 3 has the best radio propaganda.

You completely demolish an entire military outpost, win it over for the people, and the radio host says "Hi there, the good general heard that some of you were experiencing some television interference from the transmitter at Cima Leon lately, so he decided to destroy it, and the base around it, just to be sure."

I think it was part 3 that I played and the main character felt super OP with his unlimited grappling hook, parachute, wingsuit, etc. Why drive a car when you can pretty much fly? It was definitely fun, not to be taken too seriously, but it can also get a little repetitive without much imagination if I remember correctly. Worth a few bucks? Sure!

Just Cause 4 doesn't contain any of the expansion content. Consider the game to cost $7.50 more even on sale, to get the 'real' constent complete version.

Skip on that one in any case. $3.50 is too high for that particular game, even if it did have the expansion. Just Cause 2 and 3 are better games by every reviewI've seen with a meaningful explanation, at least on PC - get those, if you don't have them already. (Re)play them instead if you do, rather than getting 4.

I've never played one, but played the heck out of 2 and 3, and a little bit of 4.

I think many people didn't play these games due to them playing GTA. I always tell people JC is like GTA but you have vertical movement….aaaaand you can blow up SO much more stuff.

My favorite was 3, especially with the DLCs
