All locks are useless if someone is determined to steal your stuff. A lock, any lock, is just to get the opportunistic thief to move along to the next

The shaft of the lock is the hitch pin. Basically it appears to be a locking hitch pin AND cable lock all in one device. Frankly I think I'd rather two devices but that would also mean two locks / key.

*At least how I am understanding it.

Not one pic shows how it hooks up to a trailer and car hitch pin

I wonder if this is intended to bolt to the frame of a trailer too or something. I'll have to google it since all reviews are promo reviews

I assume you'd lock this to your hitch (as the pin) then run the cord through whatever you had attached. That way your bike, carrier, and vehicle are all tied to one another.

You probably could run the loop through the tongue of a small trailer as well but I would worry about sharp turns binding up or not having enough slack.

Now that I think more about it the system seemly pretty annoying because the lock would be right next to the hitch....so 12-18" off the ground and well under your bike so you might need to get on your hands and knees to unlock your bike. Or squeeze in via the side between the hitch and rear of the vehicle.

Maybe it's just me, but I worry about having a cheap lock mechanism for my trailer pin while towing.

I'd rather just do a traditional pin and find some other solution if trying to keep it locked for security.

Edit: searching around I noticed another design where they have a lock but you can still put a clip through as well as backup. I'd feel more comfortable with something like that.

Agreed. We live in an age where $75 worth of battery powered tools can defeat these locks in a minute or two.

Looked at this at Walmart. Was going to use to lockup my scooter.

CSR in-store said they no longer price match website prices and I would have to order online then come back and pick it up.

If it was better quality I would of went through the hassle. Says rust free but I doubt it. There is some heat shrink wrap on it where the pin and cable meet.
