Despite all the pretty pictures of a full soup bowl, this is just a box of plain dry noodles. Just a warning for anyone who might order without looking closely and end up disappointed.

Wheat has protein.
These are wheat noodles.
The noodles are providing the protein.

On top of that, it seems to be one sealed pack containing 4 top ramen-style "Bricks" (not individually sealed, but maybe those don't actually go stale).

With that said though.. are these noodles any good/better? There doesn't seem to actually be any cost savings compared to normal ramen bricks, and most of them (like the Mi Goreng Hot and Spicy ones) come individually wrapped and have a variety of seasonings (2 sauces, powders and toppings) included for a very similar price.

as others have pointed out, these are basically plain ramen noodles. they seem to have slightly less chemical preservatives than some, but im torn about those flavoring packets. the hot oil and other 'flavor' packets usually have a ton of highly questionable ingredients/chems.

this one seems to have far less 'fats' and sodium (flavor packets) but unless you don't have an asian grocery store near you, it's not really a slick deal for plain jane ramen.

As for the 'made in china' comment: I typically chose made in japan first (higher quality and hopefully a better QC system of keeping out gutter oil/questionable ingredients/false marketing). 2nd is made in taiwan, last is china and other south/east asian countries.

Granted typical cello-wrapped "Ramen" is about as close to authentic Japanese as Franco-American is to Italian, I have to ask...

What is "gutter oil"?

We buy these usually from Walmart and use the directions on the side for the broth. It's pretty easy and then add whatever extras we want.

Thank you I'm putting this on a subscription.

I'd never heard of it either: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gutter_oil

I presume they're better than, say, Maruchen. Ha! And Amazon's price is ~$1.50 lower than Walmart's price.

Thanks for the heads up. Must be the CCP police downvoting you. I also avoid Chinese based food products.
