Any idea on the heavy metals or calcium or lead in this?

It was a previous deal I think. That or I happened to see it as well. It appears to be out of stock now though.

This article was SUPER helpful. I cancelled my powder order for this reason alone. PLEASE, think twice before you buy this deal. Consumer Reports has determined that this product has 95% of the threshold of lead, and 95% of the threshold of cadmium before it is considered unsafe. If you consume chocolate on the regular, please read the article, and make better choices about what chocolate products your consume.

So what did you replace it with instead? Doesn't look like there's much of a choice given that all brands suffer from the same issue.

Here's a bit from the article:
"For cadmium, it appears that the cocoa plant takes it up from the soil. Lead, however, can be deposited on the cocoa beans after harvest, potentially from dust and soil as beans dry outdoors. These metals are both found in the cocoa solids—which, along with cocoa butter, make up cacao. That's why products rich in cocoa solids, such as dark chocolate and cocoa powder, tend to be higher in heavy metals."

I went without! It was going to be a treat for me in my whey protein shakes!

The cadmium content in the soil does vary by source, as it's higher in volcanically active areas. If the source is given, you can potentially reduce that way. I was more worried about the cadmium than the lead (though obviously neither is good), but unless you have a brand you like that's available and gives its source (and happens to be one of those lower areas), that really doesn't help much. I was buying and eating a lot of 85% chocolate sourced from Colombian plants, so until there's transparency in cadmium reduction (which as you point out is not even a processing issue, though allegedly we could get to a point where it's removed in standard processing) I've mostly been eating carob, mixed with a lower percentage chocolate, for a snack. Even just swapping out some of it would be beneficial, but carob is still pretty reviled.
