I got this last night at Costco. I haven't used a shaver like this in over a decade. I like to use stick razors. These kind always hurt my face and weren't very smooth. This one left no pain or redness. My face is smooth as baby skin. I'm glad I decided to jump on this deal. Now hopefully the blades will last a while.

Glad it worked out. The extra blades sweeten the deal.
Yes, and the manual says they can last a whole year. Is that a real expectation?
A year of sharp razor for one set without sharpening seems like a stretch unless you have a light beard. I have made mine old norelco blades last 2 years by sharpening once a month but they are not near as sharp as the original ones. I have a heavy beard. If they meant both sets with this norelco costco razor would last one year in total that would be more realistic in my opinion.

How do you sharpen the blades? I have a fairly heavy beard and I usually make mine last about a year, with no real maintenance, but by the end it takes twice as long to shave and I still don't get as close. Replacement blades are nearly as much as a new razor unfortunately. I should add I "make" mine last a year, but realistically if money wasn't a factor I'd replace every 6 months. I think I may stop by costco tonight and pick this up since I don't wanna pay $5 shipping the extra replacement blade does make this deal pretty slick.

There are a boat load of youtube videos on how to sharpen blades with the same theme. Use an abrasive polish and move the blades on a circular motion on a ceramic object like a coffee mug, bottom of a plate, or even a piece of glass. My abrasive goto is mother's mag and aluminum polish: https://www.amazon.com/Mothers-05...H519Y?th=1
10 oz. of this stuff would last 5 men for a lifetime.
At first I used a small bit of the paste and did the motion for 30 seconds with each head. Now at the 2 year mark I do it for 2 minutes. It is not as sharp as the original but gets a clean enough shave for me. If I get a several day growth I use my hair clippers to make the initial cut before the razor. Hope this helps.
I bought this last night to replace my 9000 series. This was only $10 more than additional set of new blades and this included the razer and new blades. Granted not a 9000 series, but I'm tired of paying so much for replacement blades and this seems to work well. Best shave I've had in probably 6-8 months.
