All cheap chairs hurt my back, even the ones with "good" reviews online. The Hyken chair I tried at the local Staples seemed like something that would break within a few years.

I got the WorkPro® 12000 Series Ergonomic Mesh/Fabric Mid-Back as well and keep on going back to this chair overall. One of my favorite chairs under 400$.

My chair was already here when I got hired so depending on when it was bought it could have been here for 10 years or longer and it's still going.
The front of the armrest coverings are starting to come off, but it's not the end of the world for me.
The gas cylinder leaks at times, but I'm also over the weight limit and so I don't really fault it for that.
When I was a 911 dispatcher we used Herman Miller Mirra chairs and they were comfortable as well but a tad narrow for me personally. I believe the bottom seat was a little more tapered and less comfortable but only after a number of hours.

The chair is definitely not bad at $100, which is why I bought it for home, but mine squeaks up a storm with every movement I make. It also does not feel quite as well built as the workpro, and I do get slightly uncomfortable after maybe a couple hours versus all day in the workpro. Overall decent for
the budget minded vs other chairs in the same price range, imo.
this workpro 9000 is ok for $300 if you must purchase new and like mesh seats.

This chair embarrasses the Hyken and Dexley chairs that are on here often from Staples. And it should. It's 2-3x as expensive but for people who sit in it 8-12 hours per day for years, it's worth the difference.
Spend money on anything between you and the ground.
