Who is the target audience for this device? Is this like the Mac equivalent for Windows laptop build? Or is there someone who builds good windows machine with better industrial design and quality?

Not sure the target audience but I lean towards 2-in-1's because I want a tablet 80% of the time and a laptop the other 20%. Always demanding a touch screen. The single device tends to cost a little more but saves me money because now I have a single device that fills two niches. Before I had always NICE tablet and a pretty budget laptop (I was never really happy with). To me this is like an El Camino, a decent compromise depending on your use case but might fall short for others. IMO 15.6" is too large for a 2-in-1 though.

BTW, the $800 laptop here appears to be the 13.3" not the 15.6"

Samsung really missed the boat on this one not going with 16:10 when this came out, since all the competitors were already there especially in this price range.
