Players descend into continental Europe after it has been overrun by horrific, murderous clones called Zeds that were created by rogue elements of the Horzine Corporation. The Zed outbreak caused by Horzine's failed experiments has quickly spread with unstoppable momentum, paralyzing the European Union.
Civilization is in disarray, communication networks have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe are now focused on self-preservation, the lucky few who survived having gone into hiding.
But not all have given up hope; a motley group of civilians, soldiers, and mercenaries have banded together to fight the Zed outbreaks from bases across Europe.

It's that fun of a game? I never heard of it but Id buy it for this price.
It's different than most games. I tried it by myself and hated it. A buddy walked me thru it and I ended up loving it. Play a little by yourself then try a couple of the easy servers. Try to find a buddy to play with.
When I started (on easy), I thought "this is easy? No way will I ever be able to play on a higher level." We ended up running a server that was set to max difficulty and a ridiculously high spawn rate. We dominated. Our group had a standing game from 8-10 every night and the server was running 24/7.
I first played Killing Floor back when it was a mod for UT2004. I got into it again a few years later when I got it for cheap on a Steam sale. I ended up playing a ton of it. I think I read a review that said "this game is way more fun than it deserves to be" and that just about sums it up. At least the original was a fairly simple wave-based zombie shooter game. There wasn't a ton of depth or strategy, but the game really rewarded good aim.

I have waaaay too many hours in KF2. Add to that the time spent doing maps and it's even more ridiculous.

No. You can't play games online unless they are "Free-To-Play" like Fortnite, Rocket League, etc.
