looks like something I could use. sorted reviews by "most recent" and the first page lists these problems:
-can't connect to external network
-won't record, basically a live feed (two complaints)
-can't zoom, potato quality resolution

If 4 of the most recent 8 reviews give it a 1 out of 5 star I'm going to pass.

I have the pt. The software sucks but it does continuously record. I would get a different brand with a starvis chip for better low light recording. The video isn't as crisp in this one. The best way to use it is with their paid tier backup service. I doubt this fits many people's use case. The solar panel keeps it at 100 and it will deter burglars imo but you're not going to film much with this. You get 20-50 feet of meh video.

no, they usually miss the first few seconds of any action.

I have 8 Reolink cameras of various models. Two are dead on the gutters, and three are dead on my workbench... junk.

Reolink is a great hardware company but their software is really poor...often apps are released with major bugs and have not been tested properly (look at recent android/iOS app reviews where they basically broke remote viewing while off home network)...I'm bummed because this company had such potential.

Yes, the solar panel connects to the camera via USB-C. You would just need a power brick and cable.

I've been using this model for several months with no issues. The camera quality is excellent for what you are paying. Lots of features. I'm guessing the people who couldn't record didn't read the instructions. You will need a micro SD card inserted into the camera to record, or steam to an NVR.
