That's good to know. I'm also looking at the Rode PodMic or a classic Schure. Very exciting to get into this after all these years doing simple usb.
Edit: Also thumbs up and reps.

If you're looking for a mic out of frame, shotgun mics are a good way to go. Unless you were using the lav for something else like walking aroundā¦
It's a fun and extremely capable device. The Podmic is a great $99 mic with bulletproof build quality. It has an EQ preset in the rodecaster too.

The podmic is definitely something I am considering. The other one is a Shure SM-58. For lavs, I was thinking of getting one because sometime I hope up on an exercise bike and move around a bit. Also for a guest on stream (my son or grandma), because two mic boom arms are quite cumbersome.

Because they aren't normally positioned as close to your mouth, they're usually omnidirectional and use relatively high gain. The result is that they pick up everything. Getting the gain/volume right, without too much crosstalk/noise, is definitely a challenge. They're also notorious for picking up any rubbing of clothes, making them problematic for any form of exercise.
For in-house/studio, I'd urge you to reconsider and look into more compact mounts. I actually have one of these and it works surprisingly well for it's weight/compactness. Reaches further than I expected as well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C29H8WD
For cycling/exercise, look into something like an "around the head" setup that gets the mic closer to your mouth, resulting in lower gain and far less noise. It'll move with your head as well, keeping level more consistent. I can't speak to this one personally, but something like this could work. I have a similar one with a wireless pack. You'll also need a mini-XLR adapter, but that should be easy. If the sound works for you, it could be another solution for in-person guests. https://www.amazon.com/Profession...B0
Now to find something that will automatically increase noise (or huffing/puffing) cancellation as you cycle up an incline...

You can connect quite a few mics across 3.5, Bluetooth, wireless go mic, and XLR. If you looking for 4 XLR mics the bigger rodecaster does that.
How many logitechs have I thrown away? or the 10 versions of xbox headsets I bought. Eh the price of a SM7B and GoXLR mini was worth every penny just to be rid of headsets. I been waiting for this to go on deal.
Only thing I dislike about this vs a GoXLR is the low amount of inputs (besides microphones). GoXLR includes the optical input which works very well for console. Rode only has USB/digital inputs. There is no optical or any stereo line in
I use speakers in my setup and music is the majority of my time(dual pc "if" i streamed). With GoXLR I used a optical-splitter from tv to xlr&speaker system. The only config I am able to use is the balanced speaker out on rode. But im not a special case, this is very close to console or any 'non pc' input....I think rode really missed a mark with no optical or 3.5mm inputs. But I am still happy.
GoXLR software always gave me so many problems, but did work without PC (after it was 'initalized' by software you could shutdown and continue to get mic-output). The rode does up this like most 'mixers' and can run completely headless/pc less.
I might, in time, spend the $$ and get my digital audio out/optical/Dolby encoded to speakers before it hits the rode. I do feel like rode is losing some quality on music, but I haven't used a analog to speakers in a long while.
While that is a downside, there is the upside of having both PCs routed to the rode and both PC's sound is on one speaker set, while this type of output is only available on the headphones of goxlr and 'one-way' via usb..
