I played through Forbidden West, and then circled back to play this one. It's about 90% of Forbidden west, and well worth 3x this price. Great game!! Also looks good on a Samsung 49 inch curved monitor!
This is a great game! I highly recommend it to any sci-fi fans

Playing through this a second time. It's a fantastic game that I'd recommend to anyone that might like archery-based combat.
It's easy to get bogged down at first because some enemies are arrow sponges until you have better gear and can hit their weak points. But that's part of what make big fights with lots of enemies feel epic. One-shotting a Watcher while both of you are moving, while running away from a huge machine that is trying to literally step on you, is a pretty cool experience.
There's no feeling of missing out if you don't do every side quest, as you're not getting unique rewards for most of it; you can just do what you like. I skipped the hunting trials and the cauldrons because I didn't enjoy the gameplay those highlighted.
And all the people saying the DLC is even better than the main game are 100% correct.
Another comment saying this is a lot of game for $11. You have to get used to avoiding stronger enemies early on and coming back to them when you are stronger. I basically describe this game as hi-fi breath of the wild. It's fun if you like open world distractions
Between this and Forbidden West, I think this is the better of the two. And as has been mentioned, a lot of game for $10.
They fixed a lot of the inventory issues in forbidden West and other annoyances from the first game. Forbidden West is a HUGE grind though. They make you grind for items for at least 100+ hours. Luckily there is an infinite resource glitch that exists. Without that glitch I'd still be grinding for items today. Lol
I feel like forbidden West also had way more dialogue. To the point I would skip past many conversations (especially the side missions).
This post saved me! This is on sale on Epic Games but you can't gift anybody games on that platform but I can give them the key from here and it's cheaper! Thanks so much OP!!

Forbidden west is this game but more. Unlimited travel between fires, better graphics, better fights (slightly), and I couldn't put it down, whereas with this one, I don't quite get that feeling. It's still a great game, but I just don't think its as good.

I think it is just personal taste. To me I care more about story and atmosphere and in those aspects HZD to me was far better than Forbidden West. Forbidden West is years better in terms of technology and graphics and that is to be expected for a much newer game. But to me it is so boring that I gave it up completely after 2 hours and just can't go back to it.
That is said, everyone can have their own favorites and it's perfectly normal that people would like different games. YMMV.

GMG sells Steam codes and isn't a direct store like GOG, itch.io, etc. so Steam is the DRM here. Steam does not list any additional DRM.
