It's a rather rare occurrence but can happen. The good thing about Nintendo Switch games is that you can easily see if a cartridge is in the case before opening it by simply shining a light inside and looking from the bottom edge.

I am a huge fan of the original Super Mario RPG on the SNES and this remake is an absolute delight. Between the Link's Awakening remake and this, Nintendo basically found the best way to re-release games from the 90s so that they're modernized but without losing their charm. I'd love to see more games get their treatment... Super Mario World, Super Metroid, A Link to the Past.

Digital games are best for games where you constantly pick up and play and/or play for short time periods. Think of a game like Tetris. You wouldn't want to manually load a cartridge every time. You want to just quickly go to it and play. Sports, racing games, puzzle games. Other digital games that are good are ones that lose their value since you won't sell anyways. Mario and Zelda, you play thru a game start to finish in longer plays. They hold their value over time. Physical is best for those.

Mario rpg isn't a game you play constantly. You play, beat it, decide you want to sell and get 75% of your money back OR hold forever and play again later. You won't casually randomly say "I'll play Mario rpg for 20 mins then not play it for 2 months. The game cartridge sits in the slot. Mario Kart on the other hand is a game I find to be helpful digitally since I play it more frequently.

Gotta love Nintendo. Selling a 30 year old game for over $40 that's 1MB in size and many have bought 4 times over.

Think about what you wrote. If people are "buying it four times over" then their price point is obviously fair. Supply and demand. Also, $40 in 2024 isn't much money. Not sure where you live but I spent $40 today on parking and tolls going to work. $40 for a physical asset I can play then resell for $30 seems like a good deal to me.

The revised combat system is absolute garbage and a massive downgrade from the SNES version.

Do NOT purchase this listing if you care about getting a US instead of an international version.

Although this is marketed as a US version of the game, it is not. I purchased this exact listing and the seller ("Golden Century Deals") placed a sticker with the US UPC over the international version UPC. I returned and left a bad review but Walmart seemed to have deleted my review.

I'm sure this seller will do the same thing for future listings and hope people either don't know or don't complain. Just go with Amazon for a few bucks more if you want to guarantee a US version of the game.

Read plenty of reviews and never saw that being as big a deal as you state, but you are free to your opinion

Link's Awakening remake was poorly done. Suffers from really bad performance issues in areas with weather effects. Also just feels too much of copy/paste, rather than take advantage of modern hardware and QoL changes. And I say this as someone whose favorite Zelda game is LA.

With the constant sales, they must be struggling to move copies. I would consider buying it at or under $29.99. Game is too short, and I've played the original enough that this upgraded graphic version isn't enough to entice me to buy it for near Triple AAA game prices.

Constant sales yet the price is still above $40. It's not like they are marking it as clearance and dumping.

From November to February, Super Mario RPG had sold 3.14 million copies since its launch on November 17, 2023. That's pretty good for a recycled game that sells for $40+. Clearly there is a strong demand. Probably have sold another 750,000 since then till now. 4 million sales at $50 a piece is $200M in gross sales. Again, pretty good for an old game.

Completely disagree. Also a huge fan of the original Link's Awakening DX on GBC. The Switch remake had a fantastic art style, and really great soundtrack. I would love to see this art style carried over for other remakes like Earthbound. And the core game was as good as it's always been. Some slowdown in parts did not detract from the overall experience for me. Top 5 Switch games IMO. My only real complaint was no D-Pad use, which I will never understand...it was literally made for the D-Pad!

This game introduced me to the JRPG genre. Been thinking about picking the remake up for awhile. Can't wait to relive the nostalgia thanks OP

I beat the game in around 10 hours. Not saying that's good or bad, it's just something nobody talks about and surprised me after I beat it. It felt a lot longer when I was a kid.

Not a good argument there. You simply had too much expectation
