This doesn't seem like a great deal. The i5-14400f is a refresh of the i5-13400f, with the only difference being (very) slightly higher clock speeds and worse power efficiency to go along with it. For the record, despite being a "14th gen" cpu, the 14400f actually uses the two generation old 12th gen alder lake architecture. It lacks the additional L2 cache added in the the 13th gen raptor lake architecture, and based off of the lower listed ddr5 ram speed has a poor memory controller. This cpu is for most intents and purposes a slightly slower i5-12600kf that doesn't support overclocking. Also, as an f-sku cpu, the 14400f doesn't support intel quicksync (hardware accelerated video encoding), which is one of the few reasons to purchase an intel cpu over an amd cpu.

The included motherboard is decent, but realistically speaking you can get one as good or better for ~$130 even without a bundle.

When you consider bundles, this one just doesn't stack up. If you have a microcenter near you their bundles absolutely crush this one. If you're looking for an intel bundle in this price range that can be shipped, I'd wait for a better value bundle. Newegg especially seems to occasionally make mistakes with their combo builder where for a day or two before they fix it you can build bundles as good or rarely even better than microcenter deals. The most recent example is this deal I posted ~10 days ago: https://slickdeals.net/f/17478666-intel-core-i7-12700kf-cpu-gigabyte-b760m-ds3h-ddr4-m-atx-mobo-230-97-with-12700k-255-97

The bundle says Intel Core i5-14400F Desktop Processor (OEM). Will it come with a cooler fan please?

I ordered a set which arrived last weekend. I confirmed it does not come with a cooler. It doesn't even come with a box (just a plastic holder for the CPU that is taped to the motherboard's box). I guess this is what OEM means.

Well, it didn't. Also, the website quoted the CPU to be OEM. I did a search online for the difference between box version versus OEM version for CPU. Most websites such as this [cgdirector.com] says OEM version typically does not come with a fan.

I looked it up on Intel website and it said it comes with a cooler. So I assumed it would. Guess not

Yeah. I did the same earlier. I think Intel website is referring to the box version which they sell to end customers. It seems that CPUs which comes with discrete graphics processor in general does not come with a fan, but the rest do. In the case of OEM version, CPUs are sold by the trays and all the frills in the box version are excluded.
