YMMV i purchased 2 and was able to Bypass port requirement it only needs text verification to order. After getting device activate on total website click activate at top of page>One you've purchased through Total Wireless>I want a newer number. Plan is tied to phone IMEI when activating.

That said I have been burnt enough times and learnt the hard way to stay away from them. At least with Metro the system rejects orders beforehand. With Tracfone the issues happen after you get the phone…if something goes wrong in activation the customer service outrigjt lies and wastes your time .
That was NOT my case a few months ago, I needed to talk to CSR for unlocking.
The camera is good but not splendid. The screen looks good but has lagged touch register/none-register issue. Overall this phone is buggy and not worth the MSRP of $699. $100 seems like a fair price if you don't have other choice.

Other providers who use GSM band are not compatible with this phone even when unlocked.

Check band and make your decision.
I've noticed lot of them asking if the unlocked phone works on other carriers. Just a heads up for them as to be mindful to what they are signing up for.

Metro is on GSM (Tmobile bought it). I bought A54 from Metro. They unlock it after 180 days and I am using it on Visible 5G i.e. CDMA network.
People told me same thing GSM based A54 won't work on CDMA MVNO.
I want to hear from people with real experience but we have to wait for few months but it should work on at&t and tmobile (their mvno may put some sort of restriction)

Mine seems very smooth. I would think that some people have different tasks or expectations from a phone, so their mileage my vary.
I use it mainly for productivity - voice calls, track the weather, shop ebay, take pictures. I don't watch movies/video or game on it - I have better suited devices for that.
Other confirmation from chat:
1. Order can be placed now and activated after receiving the phone. I asked for activation after 30 days and they were fine.
2. Phone auto unlocks after 60 days of service
3. Can switch service plan after the first month to a lower tier if required.

It's their policy & doesn't matter if phone is capable, no androids will activate on their network using esim - it's physical sim only until something changes.

I guess those 7 are getting another new friend.
My wife has a small inkling of my phone fetish, but she doesn't know even a small fraction of it. She sees the occasional new model and raises an eyebrow, but she doesn't see the boxes hidden away in the attic or the countless hours spent trawling online auctions for rare finds. She doesn't know about the nights I've stayed up, heart pounding, waiting to bid on a limited edition model, or the thrill I get when I finally hold a new acquisition in my hands.
The guilt is overwhelming. I know it's irrational, but I can't stop. It's as if these devices hold some power over me, filling a void I can't explain. I've neglected friendships, skipped important events, and spent money we don't have, all to feed this insatiable craving. Each new phone is like a fix, a fleeting moment of euphoria before the hunger sets in again.
My wife sometimes catches snippets of my self-talk, my ramblings about GSM bands, LTE frequencies, and antenna designs. She once found me alone in a compromising situation with my Nokia 5190. She just did a 180-degree turn out of the bedroom, and we never spoke about it again. That moment hangs heavy between us, an unspoken chasm that neither of us knows how to bridge. It's like trying to get a CDMA phone to work on a GSM network—completely incompatible.
On top of everything, I've fallen for some real service traps. I signed up for FreedomPop, lured by their promises of free service, only to end up with scammed charges and SIM cards that offered no service. I also tried to keep ten old Sprint phones running on RingPlus, a doomed endeavor that only worked for a bit before it fizzled out. And then there was the T-Mobile Gold Rewards plan, which I cherished for a decade. Forgetting the annual renewal and losing that plan was a devastating moment in my life, one I still haven't fully recovered from.
I've tried to stop, tried to break free from this cycle, but the pull is too strong. The shame and secrecy only make it worse, driving me deeper into this dark, solitary world. I fear the day my wife discovers the full extent of my obsession. What will she think of me then? Will she understand, or will it be the final straw in our already strained relationship?
I sometimes joke to myself that my love for phones is my only true "unlimited plan," but the reality isn't so amusing. This isn't just a quirky habit or a harmless pastime. It's a relentless compulsion that has taken over my life, and I don't know how to escape. Every day, I struggle with the weight of this secret, praying for a way out, yet dreading the emptiness that might follow if I ever manage to break free.
