I'd be a bit hesitant to buy anything from Asus right now, from what I'm seeing from GamersNexus on YouTube.

You could also get this Vivobook S 15, it has better battery life and display. Then buy the protection plan from Walmart so you don't have to deal with Asus Warranty directly.

"Here we go" is usually about the soldered RAM. Soldered RAM is fine if its 32gb.

Enjoy your $800 laptop in 2024 with non-upgradeable 16gb of RAM which has been commonplace for the last few years. I am still using my 16gb laptop from 6 years ago I paid under $1k for. 16gbs should be sub $600 laptops at this point. You can enjoy it though. I'll wait for a good 32gb laptop deal.

I think you're going to be waiting for quite some time. If 32GB was actually a need you would buy it and not bitch and moan about soldered RAM in an ultrabook which is obviously commonplace.

People who actually need stuff for their jobs or work usually just buy it instead of complaining about reality

Lol, MacBook Air with 8 gb can burry your laptop with 16 gb easily...... it seems people just don't understand that RAM is not a cornerstone of performance

first year of warranty is still through ASUS most likely. That being said, I am still in love w/ my Creator Q that I got open box last year from BB. I have not had the same luck as Gamer's Nexus thank God.

Everyone is talking about RAM. It's the lack of a number pad that's a deal breaker for me.

Lol, MacBook Air with 8 gb can burry your laptop with 16 gb easily...... Had I bought an 8gb laptop in 2018, it would suck even more now and do even worse compared to your Macbook Air. it seems people just don't understand that RAM is not a cornerstone of performance
No one is talking about MacBooks here , could care less about the Apple ecosystem. I am 100% Windows/Android person. Comparing two laptops of equivalence on other specs running Windows 11 I would much rather have 32gb buying a laptop today to future proof it for longevity. Granted if all you do is surf the net, 16gb may be fine for you . But if you need to run any VMs or similar having the extra RAM is extremely helpful.

As I type, my 16gb is 86% used with just normal stuff (granted a lot of Chrome tabs open). People can buy what they want, but I am waiting for a good deal on a 32gb that will likely cost a lot less than a MB Air with 16gb

In 2024, 8gb is budget, 16gb is average and 32gb is better than average. For $800+ ($799.99) it needs to be better than average to be slick.

Isn't that the case with most 14 inch laptops?

I'm not bitching about soldered ram if you are buying 32gb, soldered only sucks if you are buying 16. And there are $800 laptops out now that have 32gb so I dont think I will need to wait too long. Not claiming that other specs are better but https://slickdeals.net/f/17506365-hp-envy-x360-15-6-intel-evo-platform-2-in-1-touchscreen-laptop-intel-core-ultra-7-processor-155u-32gb-1tb-899-99-costco?v=1&src=SiteSearch . Like I said, I'll pull the trigger when I want , fortunately in 2018 I got 16gb so I am not desperate and can wait for a good deal , but had I gotten half that I might have needed to replace it sooner

Yes...I'm not really looking for 14" laptops, but there are some with a number pad.
