CPU is pretty old by today standard. It's 4c/8t Zen 2. These are usually reserved for sub $300 laptop.

Not sure I've ever seen a 7th Gen Ryzen 5 laptop for under $300? And certainly not one with an OLED display.

It's not 7 gen.....don't let AMD trick you lol. The 3rd number is the generation. This is 2nd Gen.

Discussion of "generation" is confusing. This CPU launched late 2022, so it's less than 2 years old. Is there such a thing as "7 Gen" when this is <2yrs old?

It was launched 09/2022 according to AMD. So not even 2 years old yet.

This is all you need to know. There are 5 generations of Zen architecture. This is 2nd Gen.

That's how AMD sucker ppl into buying them. They just rename an old CPU so ppl like you think it's new. It's like changing the expiration date on food.

YOu seem to be the head critic so I'm going to run this by you. I'm on the fence about this laptop. I need a new laptop, coming from Dell 14 inch Gen 6 I5. Which has horrible screen and comfort. I now stream all my gaming on Geforce now so graphix capabiliteis needed would only be light photo and video editing. The main thing I want in a new laptop is a good screen and good build quality. I have checked the laptops with this chip under $400 and they are all really crappy bare bones systems with 8gb ddr, 256G harddrives, etc... So I'm torn. Don't need heaps of power or graphix. Just need a good quality machine with a good screen and I can't find anything equivelent to this under $600-$700.

I'll give my 2¢ in the meantime.

If you want a pretty face and no substance, this is your bride. If you both agree on the arrangement, your love will last. If you expect performance, you're headed for divorce.

Very good statement, thats basically what I was thinking but wanted more mouths. If you don't mind if I could have a nother couple cents. I've been looking at all the options and on paper I really like the Intel NUC X15's. For at 600 right at my price point I could get a I7 12th gen, 16GB ram, 1TB SSD. but it has an Arc a550m. I honestly don't even plan on gaming with it, if I do I'll be streaming GFN which I do on my android TV at 4k with no problems and it also runs great on my old i5 6gh gen. SO that should run fine on anything. My main issues with wanting a GPU are photoshop, premier, and maybe super light 3d. From what I'm reading Arc is decent and usable for gaming but really shines in content creation. I also want something thats power efficient because I'm lazy. So its between a i5 or i7 10th/11th gen with 8gb and a GTX3050. I understand the 3050 will naturally be way better for gaming but I really don't care that much about that side of the GPU. OR I get the Arc 550 with a 12th gen i7 16GB, and 1TB. What are your thoughts?
