Happened to find this Sonos in-wall speakers on sale at my local Best Buy (midtown Manhattan).

Didn't have any in stock, but was able to order through a sales associate at the discounted price.

For non-Sonos enthusiasts, these are regular in wall speakers that need an amplifier, specifically the Sonos AMP if you're in the Sonos ecosystem. The architectural line of "In-Wall Speakers by Sonos and Sonance" are the only speakers that support support True Play tuning when paired with a Sonos Amp.

How would this compare to the Klipsch posted earlier? Just using the these for rears.

Seems these require the sonos amp, I wasn't aware of a klipsh in wall sale and can't find that, but that is most likely any amp

I disagree since they're made specifically for Sonos and are the only speakers that support TruePlay on a Sonos Amp (but we're all entitled to our opinion).

I updated the main post to more clearly specify the need for an amp for folks that are not as well versed in the Sonos ecosystem.
If it's called Sonos on Bestbuys website then it's a Sonos product regardless of who they partnered with.

Personally. I would not buy Sonos ever again (or to begin with) after seeing how they have handled their latest major app update.

Same boat. Klipsch probably fine for the few bullet noises that wizz by every 10 min

Why would you butcher your walls and paint job to install this only to rip it out a few years (or months) later? Even if you can afford to do so, it's pretty ridiculous imho.
Odd reason to be critical of these. In wall/ceiling is the most aesthetic/least obtrusive way to add sound to rooms. Alternative is some speaker on a shelf/countertop and dangling power cords.

Why would you be ripping them out years/months later? Speaker technology hasn't changed in years. Just the processing/signal communication (i.e., Bluetooth, Spotify connect, etc). Which means you just change your amp/processor, and leave your speakers alone.

The two real downsides are 1) if you don't have the wires already run, it can be a pain and likely not worth it and 2) while the sound quality will be good, you can usually get better sq in a standalone speaker. That said, in a room with bad acoustics anyway where you don't need studio level quality (like a kitchen) hard to beat in wall/ceiling).

I can't claim to know the business relationship between Sonos and Sonance, but the correct brand name of this product is Sonance, not Sonos. I have a Victrola brand turntable that is made specifically for Sonos, and if Best Buy sold it as a Sonos turntable, that would also be misleading.
This is incorrect. The correct brand is Sonos. When you purchase them, you will see they are branded Sonos. Sonance might be the manufacturer, but that has little to do with brand.

Fair enough. Enjoy your Sonos-brand product. It's the only one I'm aware of that won't connect to a Sonos system without connecting it to another Sonos product, which was my point.

when speakers are in the wall, if they rumble is there more of an effect on hearing it on the other side of the wall??
You can install soundproof insulation. Contractors use it when building condos directly under airplane flight takeoff or landing path. If your speakers are like The Real Napsters from Italian Job, though, God help you and anyone wearing women's clothes.

I have an arc and sub already. Can I add these as rears? Or can I add multiple sets and use it all together?
