Anyone who only wants the drill and driver can buy those with two 1.5 Ah batteries and a charger for $99: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../317987595

Not as slick of a deal from a raw value standpoint, but paying more for stuff you don't want / won't use even if it's a great price ain't really slick neither.

The difference between an impact driver and drill is that an impact driver is designed to drive fasteners, while the drill is designed to bore holes. However, some drills also have a screwdriver function.

There are some pros to having a combined drill and driver. You get two tools in one, which saves on costs, and it's more convenient than constantly swapping between tools. But there are also cons. Drills don't have enough torque to reliably drive fasteners through hard materials. They drive fasteners slowly compared to an impact driver. And they rotate much faster, which means you have less control, and screw heads tend to get damaged.

This is a great starter set. I'm glad HD can still offer this for $200 after all these years.

You might want to set an alert for Direct Tool Outlet and buy their Factory Blemished Deals.
All mine have come looking like new….with no blemish to be seen.

Try to buy multiple tools at one time to cost average the shipping charge.

Which bundle is better? This Ryobi at HD for $199 or a Similar 6-tool Craftsman bundle from Lowe's for the same Price?

Ryobi is 18V the Craftsman is 20V.

Ryobi is 18V the Craftsman is 20V.
The Craftsman is 20v Max* which means that it is 18v while operating, just like Ryobi. Here is the fine print that accompanies the asterisk on all 20 volt claims:
* 20V MAX battery, maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18.
I'd choose the Ryobi because of the expansive number of options within the line and because there always seem to be more deals for Ryobi tools and batteries.

If you're between the two, Ryobi due to the number of tool options out there. However, get the better versions of the Ryobi tools because the cheaper versions suck hard.

This 6-tool deal is for Ryobi 18V One+, is this the better or cheaper version?

Cheap. That circular saw and recip saw suck hard. Underpowered drill, impact is ok, the oscillating is ok.

Is there a better grade 6-tool set that goes on sale?

Or look to buy a smaller bundle and add on a better grade reciprocating and circular saw?

these kits go on sale often, just depends on what you want and/or need.

I initially bought the 6 piece ryobi kit when I bought my home. Quickly realized how cheap and underpowered they were. I kept looking at Dewalt (as i've always been a dewalt fan) and found their XR drill/driver kit then found their XR oscillating and XR sander on sale, then found their XR jigsaw, then eventually their 6.5" saw. This was over the course of a year or so. Got their batteries with them as the deal allowed.
