For anyone interested - the info on the page is incorrect. This monitor comes without a manufacturers warranty. BuyDig offers a 90 day warranty. You can return for any reason on their dime. These are all customer returns.

This came from some back and forth with support.

Thanks everyone. I rolled the dice. Crossing my fingers that it turns out OK.

Also, if you get prompted to sign-up for the newsletters to save $15 just know that it won't work. They already have a coupon on this bringing it down to $450. If you add the newsletter coupon it just replaces the other coupon.

Thanks. I did start there. Unfortunately, some reviews are for a different version (1080p). A ton of reviews are written by morons. HDMI cable doesn't fit into their laptop. Complaints about it not being 5k (duh it's 2K). One person reported that it was 1080i. Was really hoping that rtings or another reputable review site actually looked at it. Oh well ... the order shipped. Hopefully, it doesn't turn into a huge fiasco.

They are killing me. Almost bought at $500 last week.

Spent quite a bit of time looking for ANY reviews of this monitor and nothing. At $450 it may just be worth the plunge. At least $200 cheaper than a G9.
I purchased two, Deco Gear, open box, 39" monitors through Buydig from a deal that was posted on here a few weeks ago. While it is not the same monitor, I can tell you that both of mine arrived in the original boxes with all the original packaging. There was no sign of use and both monitors arrived in excellent condition. Most importantly, there were no dead pixels or any other issues. Actually, for $199 each, I am beyond happy with the purchase! I wish you well with this one!

tbf it advertises "5K". 5K, 4K, 2K are dumb marketing terms that don't even make any consistent sense in the first place. 4K is because it's at least 4000 pixels wide (IF you use the 19:10 aspect ratio as opposed to 16:9). But by that logic 1080p should be 2K. But people call 1440p 2K for no reason. 1080p is at least 2000 pixels wide with the same 16:10 but nooooo, it doesn't count. And also 1080p is literally half the horizontal resolution as 4K so why isn't it 2K? So technically they are right that it's 5K if you just base it off of how 4K became called 4K.

But on the actual monitor, I would recommend people to just buy a monitor from a reputable brand instead. Monitor's are wrought with HUGE differences in quality despite having the exact same specs of resolution, hdr, refresh rate, g2g, color accuracy, etc. and very importantly since you can't expect to see the impact until after the 90 day warranty, lifespan. And in my eyes when I decided to buy the Samsung G9 is I'm not going to replace it for a loooooong time (running on 3 years rn, still no desire to upgrade since I have no panel issues).
Not really. 1440P (2560 x 1440) is 2k (or better).

Thank you for that. Mine gets here Wed.

I had purchased a pair of open box 32" monitors from them (AOC brand) about 1.5 years ago. Both were in perfect condition and have been terrific. Hoping for a similar experience with this purchase.

I was hoping to give you the report today. My monitor was sitting in a Fed Ex hub about 30 minutes from my location yesterday at 7AM. They have now driven it 6 hours away. Don't think it will be showing up today ... Frown.

Once I eventually get it I will be sure to come back and post about (the condition of the Open Box, quality of the monitor, etc).

Since there is so little about this monitor and it is open box I wanted to share what my experience was.

Unboxing
Maybe the dustiest box I've seen. It looks like this was stashed in the corner of a warehouse for years and forgotten about. I was sneezing for about 10 minutes after moving the box into my office. The condition of the box was far from pristine BUT I couldn't see any damage. In fact, outside of the general beating these take from FedEx the condition of the box was decent. I could not tell that it was an open-box purchase. Everything in the box was very nicely packed (just like you would expect if it were new). Comes with a remote, but no batteries. It came with THREE DP cables and TWO HDMI cables. According to the manual, it should only come with 1 DP cable (YMMV on the bonus cables). There was no protective film on the screen but there was on the stand. My screen has a very, very light scratch on it. I cannot see it when the display is on and I have to look really close to spot it when the display is off. Other than the lack of protective film on the screen and tiny scratch I would assume that this was a brand new monitor. To be clear - the scratch has zero impact on the monitor. If I didn't have my nose 6" from the screen looking for any imperfections I would not have seen it.

Set-up
It is super easy to set-up. A little awkward (given the dimensions) but I was able to do everything by myself. Comes with a remote that appears to have marginal value (changing sources will be my primary use case). I see zero dead pixels. It's running fine at 120hz.

What's left
It isn't the brightest monitor so far. I need to play around with PQ calibration. Also, the curve is very slight. Some of the Samsung's that I looked at had a much stronger curve. The 32" monitors that this replaced had a much stronger curve in a far smaller display. Depending on your use case, the less extreme curve may be a good or bad thing.

Overall
My day 1 impressions are extremely positive. Going Open Box with a no-name monitor is about the riskiest tech purchase I can think of. However, I feel confident recommending this purchase. As to whether it will hold up over time who knows, but for $450 it's a very affordable way to get into the large UWD format for cheap.

I received one of these on Wednesday. The exterior box was a tad beat up but still fully in tact, and the foam to protect the monitor was mint.

After removing from the box there was no way to tell this was an open box buy. The packaging was all brand new and unopened. It came with a remote & battery for the remote. It also came with two display port cables. The stand was super easy to install.

I replaced two work issued Samsung 24's and a dual monitor arm with this and honestly it's pretty great for the price. I played a couple games via Steam last night and I'm pleasantly surprised with this. Great deal for the price. This was one is kind of a gateway to "try on" a wider monitor with a curve. Great deal at $449 shipped. With the savings I did opt for the speedier $14-15 delivery to land on a better delivery day. I already threw out all of the packaging. This thing is hanging around.

This monitor (49", 32:9, 5120x1440) is equivalent to 2 x 27" 16:9 monitors @ 2560x1440 side by side. It is a bit too large on my end (pause).

I'm looking for a 43-44" 32:9 monitor with specs 3840x1080 (or 3840x1200), which would then be the equivalent of 2 x 23-24" 16:9 monitors @ 1920x1080p side by side. Does this monitor exist?

sceptre has one, E448B-FSN168. i wouldn't buy that though you will want more pixels for that size most likely.

Great price, but 90 day warranty isn't going to cut it.

Thanks, It Is not a bad monitor, however too bad it is not curved. Can you imagine putting 2 x 24" monitors side by side, but not angled in? haha

Re: "pixels for that size", the pixel density for the Sceptre - 43.8" @ 3840x1080 = ~91 PPI Is standard for it's size. It has an identical pixel density as a 24" 1920x1080 monitor. A bad pixel density would be a 27" 1920x1080 = ~81 PPI.

The 49" 5120x1440 has the same pixel density as a 27" 2560x1440 = ~108 PPI.

FWIW I ordered the 40" from buydig (beach camera). You have 48 hours after delivery to check for damage. My screen was cracked. Support was quick and responsive. Had a few hoops but they refunded me without a return. GJ beach camera.

Also, the 40" uses a Samsung panel. This one might too?

Finally, you REALLY should see a non-curved 49 for yourself. I can't do it. A 40" non-curved is my limit and still turning my head a lot.
