I think this might actually be a slip-on with laces...can any owners confirm?
These slip on designs especially are made for level, maintained terrain. Concrete floors, yes. Trails, no. We walk our dog on uneven terrain for a couple hours a day and no, these shoes don't have lateral support. There's a lot of flex built into the slip on designs. As someone else mentioned, it can be easy to roll an ankle in these if you're not careful on uneven terrain. But I still wear them because they're comfortable and I'm careful. My husband wears the lace up ones on uneven terrain.
They're machine washable, so they are not water resistant at all. We don't wear them in rainy/snowy weather and, the rest of the year, dewy grass means wet feet. On the other hand, they dry pretty fast, though we use a boot dryer to speed things up. Also, the breathable mesh uppers kind of balance out the heat-retaining foam footbed.
In other words, if you're on your feet all day on smooth, dry surfaces or running to the store or mailbox, they're great. Super comfortable.
My previous pair that I just replaced were washed 4-5 times and when they finally wore out, it was the foam footbed that went first. The rest of the shoe was intact. This was after a couple years of seasonal use (like 6 months out of the year, 2-3 hours, almost daily). For full time, daily use, expect maybe 6-9 months before they wear out because the foam footbed on these is thicker than the pair I just replaced. I don't know if the "laces" will wear out first, though, since we haven't tried them.
