Yes, and if you look above the Adidas symbol you'll see it rounded out, that is for those who want to cut the shoe tongue down to size.

These shoes are great but the toebox is super tight. I had to go up a half size for comfort.

In for one. Maybe it will encourage to start skating in my 40's... wish me luck!!
Started long boarding in my 30's. Love it. Quickly discovered that skate shoes are a must.

Why would they make such a huge tongue in the first place? Is it just an aesthetic design or does it serve some practical purpose?

edit: a reviewer/skater from the site comments how they like how the tongue can hold back any pants. I guess if your pants are on the longer side or the leg openings on the wider side you can tuck them under the tongue so they don't drop too far and interfere with skating?

It is based off the Copa Mundial soccer shoe from the '80s. The copa always had the longer tongue and it was usually folded over itself using the laces. Just a premier shoe design that dominated the decade in all leagues.

Oh I see. A reviewer stated they liked it for holding back their pant legs. I thought maybe it was to prevent longer/wider pants from going too far down and interfering with their skating. Thanks for the history lesson.

I have had a pair of these for a long time now and at first I thought the tongue was ugly. But honestly it's never been in the way and it tucks into your pants just fine. Also wearing them with shorts they have never seemed obnoxious to me.

I think it is just a throwback to the original design. Similar to the jordan retro football cleats.

Nice deal but they're down to the tiny feet sizes, 5-7.5 only.
