I got a nearly identical unit (same brand, same size, but mine is beige) about this time last year. I've used it almost continuously since then, both traveling on road trips and as an extra refrigerator in the house for drinks and stuff, plugged into AC power. It is quiet, energy efficient, and easy to use. I have a 500 Watt-hour portable battery (an off-brand unit also bought from a Slickdeals deal around the same time) that can put out AC power or 12V power that I use with this cooler. It can keep it running for a whole day in Eco Mode.

We took the battery / cooler combination on a road trip through the Badlands in South Dakota in July and the cooler kept ice cream completely frozen. When the car was driving, we plugged the cooler into the 12V outlet on the car. When we parked, we used the portable battery unit to avoid depleting the car battery. It was great having a picnic with freshly scooped ice cream, potato salad, and bratwurst (boiled on a small portable Coleman propane stove that I brought). The cooler had no trouble with the heat in the car even when we left the car parked for 2-3 hours in the sun on a hot sunny day. Everything inside stayed frozen / cold, and it didn't deplete the battery. Seems pretty energy efficient. We will never go on a road trip without it.
