I must say Walmart+ has been pretty handy. Not only does Walmart+ allow you take advantage of these cheap deals without having to purchase $35+ to get free shipping but you can also earn Walmart Cash points on many products plus shipping is very fast.
Honestly I would dare say that Walmart+ is a much better deal and far more useful than Amazon Prime as Prime shipping speed has been terrible since the pandemic. Walmart actually ships and delivers within 2 days for me at least which is something I find incredibly useful and appreciate.
If you don't have Walmart+ you can try adding a small/cheap food item to your order to see if you can get free shipping without meeting the $35 threshold. I know this worked for me around 6 months ago before I had Walmart+ membership; hopefully this little hack/loophole it still viable...

Sometimes you just have to admire the blatant level of corruption on display on this site.

Regardless of that previous nonsense, Amazon shipping quickly is a thing of the past in my experience but Walmart does actually deliver in 2 days. Also with Walmart+ you can take advantage of these small/cheap deals without having to meet any minimum purchase requirement. Lately; there has been some great clearance items posted here that my Walmart+ membership has proven quite useful for.
Overall, I think it's good for Amazon to have some decent competition; hopefully it will cause them to improve their shipping speeds and lower their membership prices. (Prime, Music, Alexa [cnbc.com] etc.) Honestly though, I can see why my genuine assessment of Walmart+ could be construed as shilling; perhaps I need to tone it down. It really is nice to have actual 2 day delivery though; Prime has gone down hill IMO...

Around six months ago you were able to get free shipping by adding a low priced food item to your cart/order thus getting free delivery well below the $35 threshold.
Honestly the 2 day delivery and free returns are the best benefits [walmart.com]; everything else is lack luster and relatively useless IMO (Although 10 cents off gas could be appealing to many). Walmart Cash [walmart.com] does not require Walmart+ membership I recently learned as well. (It's worth taking the time to try to find a product that you want which offers Walmart Cash IMO; you can use the search filters to sort which items that offer it)
Overall, I think it's a good thing that Amazon Prime has some decent competition and I'm hoping that the pressure will cause Amazon to improve their service. (The slow shipping speed is what I hope gets fixed) But you are not here in good faith and to contribute to the discussion right? Well, Rats Off To Ya [youtube.com] then...

The returns are so much easier now too. I've been having to find an ups store to return items for free with Amazon, but Walmart, just go to the store, which is open later. The 10¢ off gas works well with all the Murphy stations near me even though I also have Sam's and Costco a short further distance away. Murphy is open later and is often similar pricing to Sam's and Costco with the discount. Shipping is quick and I don't get all the shipment delayed emails Amazon has been sending lately.

Walmart+ will do free return pickups without begging CS reps which is a huge benefit and convenience for me. Walmart's automated return system seems to be pretty generous as well. I've filed for returns 3 times in a 2 month period and I was allowed to keep the items. (The system will go through the steps of scheduling a FedEx pickup etc. but when you finalize the return request, Walmart will give a refund and state that you can keep the item as well.)
Overall I would dare say Walmart+ is far more useful/better than Prime at the moment. Prime is no longer offering ad free Prime Video and Alexa is going to be a paid for separate service [cnbc.com] as well it seems. Combine that with slow shipping and inconvenient returns Walmart+ is the better bargain IMO.
Amazon Prime perks are still worth it for me though; mostly for Prime exclusives offers, coupons discounts etc, the Prime Visa [amazon.com] credit card that earns 5% back and has 12 month 0% financing on many expensive items and that you can "double dip" these benefits by adding another adult to your membership for free [amazon.com]. But fast shipping and easy returns is no longer a viable benefit when considering purchasing/joining Prime IMO...
