This tablet actually works perfectly with Linux. The only issue is that auto rotate isn't working yet.
I'm glad something like this exists, even if I don't personally buy it. $200 to upgrade the RAM is awfully steep.
Two completely different devices, targetting different audience. Otherwise, people would have been buying gaming laptops instead of high end productivity laptops because gaming laptops are cheaper than those.

I like minisforum but that was a terrible timing to launch this at this price.
The surface 9 with the snapdragon will be better. The ipad pro is better.
They had to reduce the price to $899 overnight because of the surface,
Product is sadly DOA and its actually a good product. Next version with a different soc (strix , lunar lake or snapdragon) will be better suited for the market

Didn't they try using arm before and it had software compatibility issues? Will all our current windows software still work with the snapdragon processor?

They did not reduce it to $899 as that is the 16GB version just got available. The 32GB version is $70 cheaper than the last deal.

This time is little different and Microsoft is also really pushing ARM and they have optimized the ARM veersion of Windows in a great degree and promising that 80% of the software which are mostly used by Consumers, now will be having native ARM version rather than ARM to x86 emulation based approch. But I will still wait for the dtailed rviews before jumpting to any conclusion.

That's the best approach to Snapdragon X Elite. Wait and see on optimized versus emulation. If it doesn't support my file manager, XYplorer, coded in Visual Basic, I'm out. I'll wait for the updated Surface Pro with Intel or AMD (non-business) or maybe go with version 9. Costco has $300 off on some good Surface Pro 9 models.
I do really like the fact that you can use the keyboards on the new Surface models detached from the device.
i have never seen a G14 4060 sell for $1000, let alone $900... so how can it be "regularly". previous front page deals have been between $1100-1200, which means its about 30-35% more expensive, and still doesn't solve the fact that its a 3.6lb laptop and not a 2lb tablet, meaning its 55% heavier as well.
if you want a good gaming laptop, i agree the G14 is a great laptop and would run laps around this tablet. that and the legion x13 if it ever goes on sale, but its apples and oranges different to this device.
I'm going to start by saying I completely agree with you that the audience for a g14 and this tablet are completely different and shouldn't be compared.
However, in case you were personally shopping for the g14 or something equivalent, the 2023 g14 w/ 4060 has gone on sale multiple times at Best buy for $999. If you could catch it on open box, you could get an excellent condition for low $800s and fair/good in the $700s. I bought the g14 for 840~ open box excellent at Best buy a couple months ago. With that said, it hasn't gone on sale lately that low but the legion OLED w/ 4060 has been around 1000-1050 new. That's a comparable laptop to the g14 but similarly, should not be compared to the tablet. Wanted to help you/others out in case anyone was looking.

"Microsoft's just-announced classification of "Copilot+ PCs" leaves a lot of users out in the cold. To access a suite of new AI features in an upcoming build of Windows 11, you'll need a processor with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that capable of hitting 40 TOPS (trillion operations per second). "
"Running Microsoft Copilot Locally Would Require At least 40 AI TOPs, Making NPUs A Crucial Component For Intel, AMD & Future Windows-Based PCs"
"Intel Outlines 40 TOPS NPU Performance As Minimum Requirement For Windows Copilot & AI PC Platforms"
So I suppose this won't be taking advantage of Copilot+ , if this is something you are looking for.

Yep. I wish they'd just put a touch-capable MacOS on the iPad and be done with it.

Get an Asus Z13 instead.
You claimed this is overpriced and then you recommended a competing product that is even MORE overpriced?
